So the Lakers front office thought Mavs were joking when they contacted them about a trade. That should let you know that maybe you need to pause and think about what you are about to do.
AD will be a Mav for 2 seasons max. The fans are never gonna embrace the nigga they traded the great hope for. His Mavs tenure is doomed from the start. I expect Kyrie to quit on the team eventually as well. He's not built to be the guy with all the pressure for winning on his back. Once they struggle, media gets on them and the injuries happen. We've seen this movie before with him.
Can anyone explain to me what the fuck the mavs are thinking and or doing???
What Charles smoking...?
And he hates the LakersCharles think big men still run the NBA; that shit is long gone!!!
The GM of the Mavs used to work with Pelinka and owed him some ass, so something had to give. Can anyone explain to me what the fuck the mavs are thinking and or doing???
This makes no sense at all, why; well because of what you are saying is true then they should have had a bidding war for Luka!! They should have and could have easily gotten way more for him!! So again someone explain to me what the fuck the Mavs were thinking….Here's my take. Luka signed a contract that I believe is set to expire in 2026. Let that sink in for a second. Now add that the rumors suggest he and his agent were approached about an extension and received a relatively lukewarm reception for the twenty something year old ball player. The Mavericks were simply hedging and nothing more. It's been said, and I totally agree with this, that the Lakers made the move to not increase their odds of a ring but to prevent what happened to the franchise when Kobe retired. It left them without a star player to fill the seats and build around. At 26 years of age Luka can be that player when LeBron hangs thing up. All the excitement over this trade is grossly misplaced and doesn't have jack shit to do with rings. It makes perfect BUSINESS sense when you factor in LeBron's age.
From a basketball perspective I think Dallas comes out ahead. The West has several teams built around the PG/SG model and few, if any have a reliable big man in the paint who can spread the defense and give you 20/8 on any given night. It's not about the "big man". It's about having players that don't require the ball to succeed. Davis gives them that.
On that note he's got to be pissed considering the clandestine shit he pulled with LeBron to get out of his contract in New Orleans.
Best explanation so far; pause…The GM of the Mavs used to work with Pelinka and owed him some ass, so something had to give.

Again if Luka doesn’t want to be there then you trade him to the highest bidder!! AD doesn’t want to play center and he stays hurt! And the older he gets he gonna stay hurt more!! Let’s see hmm why not get younger players? Man every fucking team in the league would have been interested in Luka; so any player probably outside of Giannis and Victor and Steph and LBJ would have been available …Not at all. They went after what they WANTED. Name another attainable center of AD's caliber? There aren't any and frankly I can see Kyrie doing exceptionally well with AD in the paint. It was a solid business/basketball decision. Name another player. The only real risk imho is AD's health. Worst case scenario he's a bust and you lose the salary in 2026. Clearly the Mav's felt Luka didn't want to be there by his lack of interest in an extension.
Yes we clearly see they wanted AD for weird reasons; the point they should have and could have gotten way more; and they already have fucking centers lol..Not at all. Well, Nico said, "Defense wins championships" and he is right. Did you see what Tatum and Jalen did to the Mavs last year. Them niggas was cooking Luka. So much so that they were setting picks to isolate Luka on either Jason or Jalen and they took turns putting Luka on a spit roast. Now you could say, "Oh Luka wasn't 100%." I would say "why the fuck not!" When it got down to it, the Celtics top two players were two-way players and the Mavs top two players were one-way. Now (when healthy) you are going to have D Live, Gafford, AD, PJ, Najee, Quentin and an aging Klay. All of them dudes can hurt you at both ends of the floor. Noe you can cover for Kyrie losing his man and still have scoring out there. Let's not forget that AD can still take over a game. It's not going to be quite as sexy, but they will be salty. Also, them damn temper tantrums when your team is supposed to be getting back on defense got on my damn nerves too from Luka. Plus coming back damn near 280 every fucking summer was some bullshit too. That's the real reason he has problems staying healthy. This makes no sense at all, why; well because of what you are saying is true then they should have had a bidding war for Luka!! Offense and defense wins championships!! If teams can’t score they don’t and won’t win!! I’m not saying they shouldn’t have traded Luka; I’m saying if you gonna trade him then get way more than AD fragile ass. Hurt players that stay hurt don’t get healthier the older they get; they get more hurt!!!!! They should have gotten the house for Luka; they got only the bathroom…Well, Nico said, "Defense wins championships" and he is right. Did you see what Tatum and Jalen did to the Mavs last year. What's going to be some bullshit is if Luka goes out there and let's Bron teach him how to take care of himself and be a real professional ball player. That fool gone be cooking niggas in his 50's.
You're not wrong, but a trade rumor with a player in that high as regard in the middle of the season would have been a gigantic distraction.Offense and defense wins championships!! I feel that and understand that! Why not go get KD then if they in win now mode? I mean shit if you want a hurt center then Embid lol lol; or what about the Orlando kid; hell why not try to get Minny Anthony etc etc; or why not wait and trade him in the offseason???You're not wrong, but a trade rumor with a player in that high as regard in the middle of the season would have been a gigantic distraction.
