1. Reese getting hurt obviously played a major factor for LSU. Teammates gotta step up when that happens. LSU had a great run this year. Didn’t expect them to repeat, so there’s no disappointment here. The comp was too tough this year.
2. Caitlyn Clark got the hot hand at the right time. There is no guarding a player like Clark when they got the Steph Curry God Mode going. Some people acting brand new to this fact. Lmao! HVL nor any other player on LSUs squad was going to stop her, slow her down or any of that.
3. We may see a UConn vs. SC rematch! I don’t see anyone beating SC right now, but that’s why you play the game. Anything can happen.
The ankle injury definitely changed the game for Reese.
Also Flau'jhae got into foul troubles early
LSU didn't try to take advantage of Iowa's foul troubles. Stuelke (sp?) Didn't foul out until trash time.....
the 3rd quarter shouldve been spent going hard into the paint and drawing fouls. Throw off their tempo by forcing them to play different people.
CC...... where to start
LSU didn't really paid attention to WV. They owned her and Iowa until the last 3 minutes of the game. They kept Iowa to 6 points in the 2nd quarter. CC was 8/22 she didn't really catch rhythm until the last 2 minutes of the 3rd but then they sat and she came out the 4th trying to find it again....
Double her on the perimeter and make sure your other 3 look for the pass, stay in rotation on defense, throw different defensive match ups at her. If you get Iowa's main 2 bigs in foul trouble, you can offord to have Reese stay out of the paint (again, minus the aggravated ankle)....
They let CC cook Haley..... and then Haley made 3 costly TOs in the 2nd half.....but again with Johnson in foul troubles she couldn't really help put pressure on CC......
There's more but this is enough, haha
