But the point is chappelle said something about gays and trans in his stand up and the general response is its just jokes get over it. Rogan said (in his capacity as a comic telling a funny story) that he went to black side of town to watch the movie planet of the apes and he felt like he was IN planet of the apes. And NO ONE said its just a joke get over it. The same people who said gays are being too sensitive are the same people who reacted like this to that joke.

Wayans has 2 and quit a 3rd cause he ain't need to work on it anymore that was headed toward syndication.

I'm watching "What's In a Name" by Dave Chapelle right now.
Here is what is crazy. He mentioned a dude that I know during his speech. Dave is probably the most relatable comedian that I have ever witnessed. I was in DCPS when he was and he knew people that I knew. I can't ever not respect this dude.

on the one hand as an artist I think he would defend Chappelle's artistic freedom first and foremost.

BUT (and this an Oprah Winfrey sized BUT)

But he DID gender bend himself for much of his career going so far as to create a symbol for it.

BUT he was also religious (Jehovahs Witness)

It would have been interesting to hear what his thoughts were on the trans community considering his history ...
