I get what youre saying but I guess what I'm saying is the vlog could use some cohesiveness to it. Theyve (sanders et al) have largely been winning the last few years so that covers ALOT. But frfr the vlog is all over the place and sloppily shot. He needs to focus on specific things. Sometimes he'll put something in the title thats interesting but it turns out that thing was literally a 10 second mention by prime or some fleeting moment sandwiched between 10 min of bs before it and 10 min of bs after.
That’s why I stopped watching them. His growth needs to be with how to tell a story with video.

After the loss, I would have shown the team discussing what they can improve on, then show them practicing then set up an interview with Omarion asking him what made him patient and ready for when his number was called.

But like you said. The title says something interesting but it literally is like 5 seconds of the entire clip

I agree with HNIC that the hype machine can be a bit much...for example Primes son's vlog is MOSTLY just him walking around shooting shit with little real insight to how the team is coming together. More than half of it is just some kinda sorta reality show featuring members of the sanders family who arent nearly as interesting to see or hear as they THINK they are. And all of that buzzing around can prove to be a distraction to the program....if they go on a losing streak I guarantee you will see a marked change in how those videos are done.
Yeah his son is not good at picking content to post. Long ass run on videos that barely have anything to do with the title.

this shows the difference between a filmmaker (someone who tells stories thru moving pictures), a documentarian (someone exposing the reality of an issue as its happening) and a social media content maker (someone whose savvy at drawing attention to themselves.)

How his videos open is very telling...it features himself. Which suggests he's more interested in drawing attention whether its his family or himself than actually showing the ins and outs in the development of a football team. Its not enough to show endless footage of drills and practice....WHATS THE STORY? what's the NARRATIVE and they need to control their own narrative.

Understand I'm NOT hating on him....I'm just annoyed to see so much potential go unrealized. What is Bucky? A reality tv show producer or a documentarian?? There's a huge gap between Jersey Shore and Hoop Dreams. A reality show is essentially loose dramedy (that's mostly fabricated thru editing) and a documentary shows the reality of people involved in a thing as its happening BUT thru a narrative that has a point. Poor kids busting their ass to make a college team because this is their ticket out of poverty. That's a narrative that's compelling because it makes you relate to the struggles of the people involved.

There's all kinds of stories in that locker room among the team and staff he could be featuring that he's not.

How are they balancing the STUDENT part of student/athlete???
How are the portal transfers and true freshmen adjusting to this new system??
What do the students left over from the old regime think about the new changes??
How's the coaching staff and trainers getting the students up to speed on how to play the game under Prime's playbook?

Theres so much he could tap into if he just organized how he's shooting his stuff. If he does it right that gives his videos even more value even if the team isnt doing well. Because a losing streak only makes the stakes higher for the people involved and if we see the development and the pitfalls shown in a concise way then it makes it all the more watchable.

Thats why I said winning counts for A LOT...cuz as long as the teams wins people will accept any bullshit he puts out. But the second their record takes a downward turn people will lose interest in his meandering vlogs that dont show anything interesting. And that will effect his numbers which means he's dependent on the success of the team in a real way. That's the issue of social media.

A person who knows how to tell a compelling story thru images wouldn't be adversely effected if the team goes on a losing streak or turns out their just not that good. In fact that would work for him just as well because of all the heightened tension.

A documentarian or a social media content maker...he needs to concentrate on being one or the other because hes not good enough at this point to be a combination of both.

I feel you, I've been getting ready to do my soul/funk album for 20 years.
We need to get busy.
:giggle:

thats why its soooo frustrating to see someone who has the opportunity/time/resources and theyre half assing it. Buck's BEEN doing this for years now....and his shooting and storytelling isn't that much better than it was at JSU. He's not progressing in the art and theres no one in his circle that make him buckle down and do better.

Excellent breakdown…

I’m reading this and realized the potential to dude growth…

One thing I can say about the situation, as a whole they kinda have the things you expressed.

Neely aka “TheePregame Show” kinda is geared towards the coaches and support personnel journeys.
(If I ain’t mistaken you know this because he’s your peeps)

Darius aka “ReachThePeopleMedia” deals with the players more and things on that aspect.

Deion did tell Darius, he should film more things are the campus and so on…..
So I suspect him to maybe start doing something to that nature, especially after his other friend started filming also.

I’m send to post to my peeps, he does music but just to insight alone is golden

Thanx but I dont know anybody there.. :giggle: I've seen TPGS and RTPM videos and they're pretty random too in their shooting.

Its fine to do spot interviews of various people but whats the narrative of all of it? What's the thru-line? If youre going to interview an OC then show footage of a offensive player executing it then interview that player to see if they're picking up on the play.

These guys took the responsibility of showcasing Colorado University's football program from top to bottom. They need to really sit down and plan out HOW they're are going to do it.

Like I said their videos largely depend on the team winning.... theyre gigs as videographers also depend on Coach Prime's star power. BUT if they make compelling videos that show narratives... they can take that anywhere. Thats building a resume based on THEIR storytelling abilities. That translate to any other subject matter outside of Deion Sander's football team.

They should really research Ken Burns and Spike Lee's documentary works and a few others to see how its done.

This is another way that Coach Prime is changing the game. Because of his celebrity status, he actually adds attention and NIL value to the athletes on his team. Colorado is the most watched team in College Football because of Coach Prime. A starter on Colorado has more NIL value than a starter with identical stats on another team. This will definitely help recruiting.

Hell and think Colorado NIL wasn’t nowhere near the tops in the NCAA

Topped the week as most watched game

“USC-Colorado notched 7.24 million viewers on Fox's “Big Noon Saturday” broadcast, according to SportsMediaWatch. The Buffs' least-watched game this season was still the most-watched game of the week. The second-most-watched game, the Georgia-Auburn matchup on “SEC on CBS,” garnered 6.4 million viewers.”

Despite two consecutive losses, the Colorado Buffaloes continue to be a ratings sensation.
USC-Colorado notched 7.24 million viewers on Fox’s “Big Noon Saturday” broadcast, according to SportsMediaWatch. The Buffs’ least-watched game this season was still the most-watched game of the week.

The second-most-watched game, the Georgia-Auburn matchup on “SEC on CBS,” garnered 6.4 million viewers.
Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes have played in one of the two most-viewed games of each week this season, and the team is averaging 8.5 million viewers through September — an unprecedented number according to Fox Sports president of Insights and Analytics Michael Mulvihill.
“The average Colorado audience has been more than double what any network is averaging for all CFB,” he tweeted.
As a result, the college football broadcast duopoly of ESPN and Fox have been fighting over the team.
Fox and ESPN both have rights to the Pac-12, so they trade off opportunities to broadcast the Buffs’ games. The networks have sent their morning shows like “First Take” and “Undisputed” to campus, as well as Saturday morning pregame shows “College GameDay” and “Big Noon Kickoff.”
When the Buffs join the Big 12 next season, that trend could continue. The Big 12 will be the only Power conference with a broadcast deal including both networks.

CU / USC most watched in Week 5, Buffs have five of top-8 all year

BY WILL PETERSEN
Denver Sports Analyst

Every Tuesday there’s a new TV ratings story to tell about the CU Buffs, and every week they don’t disappoint.

Colorado’s game against USC on Saturday at Folsom Field drew 7.24 million viewers on FOX, making it the most watched game in all of college football for Week 5. That’s nothing new for Coach Prime, as he’s already done that multiple times this season.

But perhaps something even more wild is brewing. The Buffs now have five of the top-8 most watched games in the sport all year. Colorado has, of course, only played five games — so every single one of them has been must-see TV and the ratings reflect that.

Just think about that for a second. Only three other games crack the list, and they’re all between marquee programs. Ohio State and Notre Dame, Florida State and LSU, and Texas and Alabama. All the rest of the contests involve Colorado.

CU has been on great national TV slots all season, but they’ve also had three 10:00 a.m. kickoffs locally and one at 8:15 p.m. in Boulder. The Rocky Mountain Showdown probably remains the most stunning, with people across the country staying up in the middle of the night to watch the epic conclusion.

These numbers will almost assuredly go down this week, as for the first time, the Buffs don’t have a great TV slot. They’ll play Arizona State on the Pac-12 Network at 4:30 p.m. MT on Oct. 8.

Still, what a run to start the Deion Sanders era at CU. And you better believe television executives can’t wait to feature them in more high-profile slots the rest of the way.
