You really can't fault them. When you have a chance to go anywhere in the country. Not having the OC you committed to is a big deal. He has yet to meet with Schumer. Will Lewis or Pat even be there next season

Yep… during the spring game
I think not having an OC is probably the only issue with Watkins. Which is very understandable. We know he has yet to meet with Pat. Also will Pat or Lewis be there next season. Once Colorado solidifies what they will do with the OC position, I think he recommits

Winston Watkins Jr. gets real on Deion Sanders concerns after Colorado football decommitment

On Monday, November 13, Watkins Jr. shared his thoughts on decommitting from Colorado football including his fear that Deion Sanders might not be there to coach him.

“I didn’t want to limit the opportunities I already have because when you’re committed some schools try to not talk to you,” Watkins Jr. said to Rivals.com about decommitting from the Buffaloes. “I have a lot of schools I want to make sure I’m still good with them because I don’t know if Prime will still be there when I get there.”

I knew it, figure once it was stated here… others would run with it

“I don’t think he’s leaving but if Texas A and M offer him then he should go .. if he was there already his son wouldn’t be getting sacked all the time and he would be in the SEC making way more money”

Just a logical kid. Why make life decisions so early when you have no idea what the future will bring? I'm still betting CU, but he is doing it the way I would advise.

People outside of Texas don't know how deep Texas A&M pockets are.
If they want Prime, they will get him.

From TAMU AD Ross Bjork, on Jimbo Fisher buyout.

"We will use unrestricted contributions within the 12th Man Foundation for the first one-time payment and the athletic department will fund the annual payments for the remaining portion by growing our revenues and adjusting our annual operating budget accordingly," he said. "Although this is a major, major financial decision that comes with many consequences, we have a plan and we will not let this impact the performance or the culture of our entire athletics program."

They owe him 19.6 million within the next 60 days.
Then 7.2 million every year until 2031

@HNIC let’s be honest if these kats would’ve been hush mouth….

They wouldn’t have been called to Colorado…

They would’ve been just another school like maybe Auburn who hired a new coach or some school like Miami who’s so-so

They would’ve not had the attendance record like they had

And soooo on…

Most coached are cocky, confident and arrogant as hell, they just move differently.
It's better to under promise and over achieve, than to over promise and come up short.

I don’t disagree with you… this ninja just moves differently

It’s crazy when you look at their margin…

A play near or there and that 4-6 looking like 8-2

A left tackle block, a wideout run the correct route… guard pick up the blitzing backer instead of doubling the nose tackle… would have the records completely different…but it is what it is for a complete rebuild they has to be upset with themselves for leaving meat on the bone…

They actually have a good thing going, I wish them the best.
I'm not the loud mouth type, so I get turned off by the over hype,
But this thing can be turned around, hell it's already happening.

pay them handsomely and things like that

But man I think he's had everyone with the exception of Queen Latifah fly out to Boulder, and talk to the team. That Georgia Bulldog analogy was true. Do they (the Bulldogs) have any players up for any national awards? Do they want the motivation, or a selfie with Lil Wayne?

Deion Sanders says other schools are telling recruits he won't be at Colorado in 2024 amid Texas A&M rumors

By Dean Straka
Nov 15, 2023 • 2 min read
Deion Sanders has yet to complete his first season as Colorado's coach, but the retired NFL star has already been linked to another vacancy after Texas A&M fired coach Jimbo Fisher on Sunday. According to Sanders, other schools are trying to use that speculation to their advantage on the recruiting trail. During his weekly radio show, Sanders claimed a handful of unnamed schools have attempted to lure recruits away from the Buffaloes, telling prospects that "Coach Prime" will be elsewhere before long.

"I don't talk about any other coaches or teams or staffs. I don't believe in that," Sanders said Wednesday, according to 247Sports. "I am not going to put you down so I can stand up. I've never been that type of player or person in my life. But all these other schools are telling these young men and their families I am not going to be [at Colorado]."

"They think that we're going to be so successful that I am going to leave," he added. "So they understand what we possess and the potential we possess. But that's not true."

Although Sanders did not name any alleged culprits, Colorado did lose a key commitment earlier in the week when four-star 2025 wide receiver prospect Winston Watkins, Jr. re-opened his commitment after previously pledging to the Buffaloes.

Sanders' comments came one day after he responded to Texas A&M rumors -- specifically, ESPN host Stephen A. Smith campaigning for Sanders to become the Aggies' next coach. Sanders, who has deep ties to the state of Texas, including a successful stint in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, largely deflected from the topic. He was previously more straightforward about rumored NFL interest, shooting down a desire to coach at the professional level.

Sanders has the Buffaloes 4-6 in his first year at the helm, that after signing the nation's top transfer class for the 2023 cycle. Colorado began the year 3-0 and briefly spent time in the AP Top 25 poll, but has since won just a single game in Pac-12 play. The Buffs are tied for last in the conference at 1-6. Colorado returns to the Big 12 for a second stint in 2024 along with Pac-12 foes Arizona, Arizona State and Utah.

Sanders was hired by Colorado last December after spending three years as the coach at Jackson State, where he guided the Tigers to SWAC championships in 2021 and 2022.
