Deion Sanders offered the Colorado job- Official Colorado season thread

I think he was concerned with his completion percentage. Plenty of times he could have thrown the ball away but instead took the sack. IMO the line gets a bad rap. Colorado threw the ball so often that teams can key on the pass. They also threw out of shotgun because of Shedeur. I think Shedeur is going to be garbage in the NFL and Deon will try to blame the team.
Yeah man, he could have just tossed the ball away. Dude be taking 30 yard sacks..lol Also Coach Prime says nothing to him.

Nobody has been more critical of every facet of the Colorado program (other than the media exposure and the money Deion brings in) but I don't think people realize how much Shedeur and Travis have been disguising major deficiencies in that team. Shedeur has taken bad sacks but he also has no run game to support him. If that kid goes to the right organization who will protect him with a running game, his accuracy, toughness and leadership will be something to witness imo...That CU scheme was a disservice to that kid.

I disagree with the notion that Colorado’s lack of a running game is due solely to poor running backs or offensive line play. I believe the scheme was designed primarily to showcase Shedeur Sanders.
Last year, Colorado replaced its running backs, but those same players performed better once they transferred. For example, Hankerson went from 78 carries for 319 yards at Colorado to 232 carries for 1,082 yards at Oregon State. Dylan Edwards also improved after leaving Colorado. Meanwhile, the new backs brought in weren’t as productive as they’d been at their previous programs.
The team even hired an offensive coordinator with NFL experience, yet Shedeur was allowed to audible into more pass plays, seemingly boosting his personal stats. In a postgame interview, Shedeur mentioned that completions were a team priority.
As for his leadership, I wouldn’t describe him as particularly strong or tough. He has consistently played for his father—through high school and college, and possibly earlier—meaning he’s always benefited from a system tailored to his strengths, along with a top-level receiving corps. While he is accurate, many accurate quarterbacks from run-and-shoot systems have still struggled in the NFL.

I thought the offense last year was more about getting big plays but they didn't have the line last year. This year I felt like they do the same thing but they were able to incorporate more of a running game. Plus the defense wasnt a sieve last year. They had the backs to do it, but they wanted to destroy everyone. I think you will see more of a commitment to the running game next year because he's not trying to run up a bunch of stats. Loadholt with get the line right.

They blamed the line last year and got a whole new line this year. They brought in Linemen that were productive and highly graded. Its not the line. They just refused to have balance in their offense. I believe it was all to make Shedeur look good. Another thing I noticed was that once Shedeur seemed to stop being a front runner for the Heisman, he prioritized Travis as a target more. I'm going to be honest, as much as I root for Black QBs, Shedeur said and did some really suspect sh*t. As a prospect, I don't think Shedeur will be picked as high as people are thinking.

I'm excited about next year. If they are able to keep their core players, recruits and get some transfers, I think they can make some noise. Without Shedeur, they will likely be more balanced too.

I know there is more money and prestige with being a top pick. But I'd rather be picked up by one of the better ran franchises later in the draft and come in with a solid team around me. Or maybe have someone trade up to get me, the way KC did with Mahomes with the 10th pick. Going to places like Jacksonville, Cleveland, Jets, etc. Have not been great places for Qbs. Although I think Cleveland has a solid team under the current staff. They just have horrible luck with Qbs for some reason.

Honestly, I never thought I never thought he should have been a frontrunner. It was always Travis. Now I could have seen him being invited to the ceremony, but frontrunner? Nah...if it wasn't Travis it would have been Jeanty. I don't pay much attention to what Shedeur says outside of his press conferences. I know he has said about them wanting to feed Travis the ball and get him his yards. I've seen him make some great throws but you're right, he's trying to go down the field a lot and not taking what the defense gives him. He's young, he will get it right. Updated draft order has the pats 1 and the titans 2. I could see him going absolutely going to Tennessee. They have a black GM in Carthon and they got weapons. Good Running game with Spears and Pollard. Good receivers as well with Eastbrook-Ikine and Ridley.

I’m say this Shedeur taking sacks is fixable

I’ll have that than him being a pick artist or a non accurate qb…

It’s been proven if he have time, you gonna get sliced up

n i`ll say this at least him n trav played ..

most high draft picks would have sat not wanting to

A...get hurt ...or B ..hurt their draft status ...

me personally if it was me or my kid i wouldnt have played unless we were in the playoffs ..

fuck that game .... smh

I also felt that the OL was always scapegoated and the rb's were misused...A running game is a qb's best friend ! Going 4 and 5 wide with a qb that likes to hold the ball is a recipe for disaster. Especially with 2 true freshman starting on the OL...CU struggled blocking basic T/E and E/T stunts. Run the rock and it's see man, hit man and it also builds confidence.

My originally plans was go to San Antonio to watch BYu vs Colorado then on Monday go to Houston for LSU vs Baylor

But my dude said he wasn’t playing in the bowl game. We said fuck that we ain’t going just to go.

Deion tries to avoid that shit that Florida State is going thru…. That shit carried over from the previous year

Just got back from the hospital had to get them wounds Stitched up BYU caused….

I enjoyed the game even tho it wasn’t in our favor….

The service was horrible in the Dome, which was the reason I didn’t post during the game…

I didn’t watch nothing on BYU all season. So I didn’t know much about them but the stuff Deion was stressing during the press conferences. Everything they said was correct. They are a really good team….

I’m say this I didn’t feel good when Ralphie was feeling it. The damn mascot was acting like she was ready to get back to Colorado:lol:

The damn Bison was jogging around
I wish college football had the All-22 because I would watch it for Colorado. Since you were at the game, was Trav doubled all night? Why did it take so long to get him involved?

It was a combination of things…

The main thing was pressure and seem like a effort to get others involved

BYU secondary was on point, hell the defense really didn’t give much up

That play trav scored on… he came across the fields (left to right) made a few moves and scored…. If I recall, Shedeur kinda made that happen by scrambling

I have no issues with Sanders, but if I had to pit between him and Ward, I would choose Ward.

I think we might have some reasoning about the piss poor effort from the squad last night….

Damn I hate to see this but it is what it is

Deion Sanders and Colorado losing two key assistant coaches to SEC school

Coach Prime has another season with his staff being reshuffled in Boulder

Colorado football is set to experience significant changes on its coaching staff as two of its top assistants, Phil Loadholt and Vincent Dancy, are reportedly departing for Mississippi State. This move underscores the competitive nature of college football coaching and the constant evolution of staff dynamics under head coach Deion Sanders.

Loadholt, Colorado’s offensive line coach, made a notable impact during his time in Boulder. Joining Sanders' staff last offseason, Loadholt played a crucial role in improving the Buffaloes’ offensive line, helping reduce sacks by 17 compared to the previous season. This improvement was vital for Colorado’s offensive success, providing better protection for quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Loadholt, a former NFL offensive tackle with the Minnesota Vikings, brought valuable experience to the Buffs. His history with Mississippi State’s new head coach Jeff Lebby played a significant role in this move. The two previously collaborated at Central Florida, Ole Miss, and Oklahoma, establishing a strong professional rapport that now continues in Starkville.

Dancy, Colorado’s defensive ends coach, also departs after a productive year. Initially joining the staff as a defensive quality control analyst, Dancy earned a promotion and quickly made an impact. His leadership saw players like BJ Green II and Arden Walker flourish, contributing to a noticeable improvement in Colorado’s defensive front. Dancy’s prior experience as the head coach at Mississippi Valley State further solidifies his credentials as he reunites with Lebby’s staff.
For Mississippi State, which endured a dismal 2-10 season in 2024 and failed to secure a single SEC victory, these hires represent a fresh start aimed at revitalizing the program. The addition of Loadholt and Dancy brings valuable experience and leadership to a team desperate for change.

However, for Colorado, this marks the second consecutive offseason where Sanders faces the challenge of replacing key staff members. This news follows theBuffaloes’ disappointing 36-14 loss to BYU in the Alamo Bowl, signaling a pivotal moment for Sanders as he seeks to maintain momentum and rebuild his staff to continue Colorado’s upward trajectory in the competitive Big 12 landscape.

Did they leave before the bowl game? If not them leaving is irrelevant to last night. BYU was just better on both sides.

This will likely be a significant raise for both of them. Phil Loadholt made $325,000 last year as an OLINE Coach and Dancy signed a 2 year contract where he made $350,000 this year and $3750,000 in 2025.
Last year Mississippi State's Offensive Line coach made $775,000 a year on a 2 year contract and the Defensive Line Coach made $460,000 a year.

Props to Coach Prime for giving these brothers the opportunity to get in this position.

0-3 in bowl games, that’s not okay! Big games are not their thing it’s been proven time after time. Thank god they didn’t make it to the CFP it really would have been embarrassing.

Damn cam just played the first half?

Yep, half the team sat out the 2nd half and turned it over to the backups...Restrepo didn't even play. I'm happy Cam got out of there. Fuck a pop Tart Bowl in the grand scheme of things. Miami has had 2 potential first rounders blow out knees in bowl games (Melvin Bratton and Willis Mcgahee). At least those were for the Natty...Get your money, Cam !!
