Was talking to my brother about this last week lol.
Our uncles are roughly the same ages we are now 40s and they looked way older compared to us right now lol.
I don't know if it was the white port and menthols but them niggas looked grown AF in the 80s and 90s as young men.
I still get carded for reference .

We can't say it was "harder" back then because gas was under a dollar, it was free to cross across the Bay Bridge (special times) and houses were like $40k lol. We definitely got it harder financially than they ever had it

Look at any basketball roster from the 70s and 80s. I've always said that they LOOKED like grown ass men compared to today's players.
I have a habit of going to Wikipedia to see what someone's age is. I'm mostly surprised when I see people like Archie Bunker and George Jefferson look so much older than me at those ages when they were on tv.

Umm you think you have it harder than the civil rights movement and prior.. you think cause your gas is more expensive it’s harder for you than waking up with burning crosses in your lawn, getting hunt down by police dogs, fire hosed by fire department, getting the worst possible job opportunities with garbage pay, being secluded and limited access to many places..lack of technology, etc.. people of modern times really don’t understand the privileges they have now

Even if I don't know people from when they were younger as a reference, they seem to look younger than folks in the past. It's like I'm shocked to find out ages of people in older films/shows.

I wonder what it is. Is it the water in the showers/bath? Chemicals preserving(pickling) people? More people than ever work out. It's also not frowned upon for men to take care of themselves like it was in the past.

That's true although I was looking at Essence Atkins recently who just turned 50 in February, she did a no make up no filter pic and she is gorgeous. She doesn't look like she's had any work done.

All I can say is, 50 did not look that fine when we were coming up. There was a woman here or there who was 50 and God damn she was fine but...

Rue McClanahan on Golden Girls was 51 when the show started. And she was a GILF.
