You say that and it immediately made me think of the NFL's recent collective bargaining agreement. These motherfuckers literally traded a 17th game so they could smoke weed.
The slaves don't want freedom, they just want an occasional day off, which is not ending slavery It's just making the situation Slavery-Lite. A slightly less oppressive drink.
In truth, they don't want to fight for true freedom, it has to be done by the people with balls, and most people don't have it in them to fight
That's sort of a simplistic way to look at it. Without the majority of the players being in agreement, it's hard to just go hard against the 17th game & other stuff. Plus salaries have increased with the 17th game, so players of all levels are benefiting from that especially the lowest levels. And the weed issue should have been taken care of years ago, but the league would rather pump players full of addictive & destructive pain killers.
