A great basketball player should be able to handle the rock, lead a fast break, shoot jumpers/3s, etc.

As for Phil and Scottie doing okay while MJ is retired. It’s like this. Once you get things running get a like a machine sometimes it’s easy to let a part go and still run at a fairly high level but it will never be to level it was at when you had all the components running it. If you remove Jeff Bezos from Amazon it will run great because the machine has already been put in place.
