My take on the LGBTQ shit.... I'm 50 and very liberal, and my parents are/were pretty liberal. When I was growing up, they had no problems with gay people, but were a little weirded out by trans shit (not anti, just weirded out). I have no problems with gay people, and the trans community... like, it is what it is.... it's not that I embrace it, but I accept the reality of the day and the reality of how they are what they are (two frieinds of mine have trans kids, m2f and f2m). So I'm less weirded out by it than my parents.... but again, I'm 50, so seeing it portrayed constantly in shows is ehhh... a bit annoying to me, but it's like whatever.
People who are the age group of the kids portrayed on the show though.... that shit is beyond normal to them, so what we see in the show... to them it's like nothing, and in fact if it didn't portray LGBTQ the way it does, they'd probably see it as unrealisitc. It's like in the 80's and 90's when shows would focus on teen pregnancy and teen sex, drugs, interracial dating... all that shit had a lot of older heads like , but for us, it was what we saw and lived with every day.

We live in a day and age where there are intimacy coordinators on set now and we are still fully in the #metoo era.

Power, Insecure and She's Gotta Have It all saw drastic reductions in nudity in their most recent seasons. Hell that last season of Power was probably on par with Snowfall in terms of content.
