Certifications = payday in the tech field. Way more valuable than degrees in some instances. It's very easy to tell though just from the interviews if they know what the hell they're talking about or the cert is bs.

This is a mask off moment and given that Elon isn't charismatic or particularly likeable I'm not sure how he fixes it. I'm amazed he was dumb enough to say this stuff out loud. But all the tech barons believe this. They need the visa hires because it fuels their fixation on hyper profits and over delivering for shareholder $$$. H1B hires are often paid less than equally qualified/experienced American engineers and they regularly work 90 hours a week without issue. They're machines, basically. Elon also got caught telling bold ass lies here. On one hand he says (white) Americans shouldn't go to college. On the other hand he complains about the lack of qualifications. And if you're smart enough to do the work without a degree guess what? Hiring H1Bs legally requires you to hire Americans based off whatever the education level of the visa holder is. So that army of white boys who refuse to go to school for IT/engineering/etc get fukked by the numbers game.
I hope it's clear to everyone. All that dudebro shyt that the tech barons have embraced? They were deliberately playing white guys for fools. In reality it was never about getting good jobs to Americans. They want white people to have children, be broke consumers, and when the time is right guess who will be the factory workers, for shyt they can't get robots to do yet? It'll be an army of broke Americans. Elon is selling dreams about Mars but I will bet you anything that the next step will be some type of massive works program on earth. Building shyt on Antarctica or something. Hell, look at how they're trying to buy and corporatize New Zealand. Lots of empty land there for Elon to build factories on.

You also got to keep pace with the latest/hottest certs. What's the need for a CCNA when most of these companies are moving their tech stack to the cloud? Kind of the same thing with VMWare. That cert was fire in the 00's/10's, no so much today. Isn't help desk pretty much an A+ cert? Do you have that?
yes I have that too and several others, I'm taking a trip soon to visit a few states and see my luck.
It's also because immigrants have an outsider's perspective which allows us to capture opportunities born Americans might not notice. It's it's harder to run game on us because we don't grow up with the same propaganda and cultural expectations.

You can get as many degrees and certifications you want until you’re blue in the face, they don’t want to pay you for your knowledge so they create an environment thats conducive for low wages. The rest is psychological.

No bullshit, those Indians are eating good as fuck off of D.C. government contracts. I use to work with a few and wondered how they got so many damn contracts? They play that small business/minority owned business to a tee while outsourcing alot of that shit to IT workers in India.
Most immigrants come from countries that are just as bad if not worse in that respect. When we don't eat out it's usually because we can't afford it or don't like American cuisine.

You are right. I do see a serious issue brewing. Elon is focused on cost and effectiveness which the H1B Visa employees offer. CACs are definitely not going to like competing against H1B Visa employees in a tough job market. I don't see Elon backing down or a solution. This has the potential to cause a loss off support from lower and middle class white males. Elon and Vivek need to redirect attention to the Mexicans quick.
