Damn....don't ever judge a book by its cover. I thought this was one of those "Ain't nobody got time for that" videos.
Reality of the matter is most people want to be successful at their jobs. They want to be recognized for their contribution to the work force. She's advocating that at this point, and with the Vivek/Elon take on the American workforce, that you only need to do the bare minimum. Not sure if this theory of hers applies to all job sectors or silicone Valley type jobs. But for some, doing the bare minimum will not get you the financial security you need.
Her take needs another look. But I appreciate her eloquently laying the shit out.
That wasn't her take at all. She made it clear from the start that she was advocating for work life balance. Her secondary point was immigrants desire to prove themselves or assimilate is counterproductive. Regardless of how much of an asset you are, the corporations are banking on your ( immigrants or second generation immigrants) desire to look better and they'll never truly value you. it's about cheap labor and taking advantage of employees who want to be in the US. This in turn drops everyone's value over time. US citizens may not fear being sent back, but you'll be force to settle for lower pay overtime. We saw similar things play out with remote work.
While you attempted to compliment her, you didn't seem to really listen to what she stated. No disrespect but she isn't attractive in the video and wearing a bonett, so most on here aren't likely to view the video and take your assessment as truth. Even with you stating her words didn't match her image, you directly or giving benefit of doubt unintentionally painted her as lazy. Ultimately, she didn't say she'd do the bare minimum. She said she wasn't going to sacrifice her life for the benefit of corporations.
