Notice you can actually see below the table, there is no way you would be able to see below the table if you were even or above the table line of view, well not if you was starting this close to the table.. To avoid this type of deception why didn't he simply rest the camera on the table then try to make the coin disappear?
Well in reality the red line is you viewing angle and anything above it can be obstructed by the above portion of the table, while anything below it can be obstructed by the bellow portion of the table, and being that the object he has in his hand is on the yellow line plane, it stands to reason that part of the table that is above the red line would eventually block the view...
