Per the report Friday, Mayweather is set to earn at least £100 million ($144.8 million), while McGregor will have to settle for £7 million ($10.1 million). The source added more details:

Floyd went mad after Conor said he would crush him and knock him out in 30 seconds, he’s obsessed with making Conor eat his words.

Floyd is calling the shots. It’s strictly boxing and Conor will have to lose roughly 25lbs.

It was agreed in principle on May 2, but Floyd wouldn’t reveal the identity of his opponent until last night when he told friends he’ll be fighting Conor.

McGregor challenged Mayweather to a fight back in January, according toRob Burnett of the Daily Mirror. PerGareth A. Davies of BT Sport (h/t James Orr of the Independent), he repeated his challenge in March, saying he would be willing to meet the undefeated Mayweather in a ring.

"I’m open to discussions, come at me," he said. "But I hold the key and it’s me who holds the key to the fight game.

"I am open minded, I am open to discussion, I love competition, I love fighting. It would be nice to make that fight if the fans were interested and wanted to see it."

Mayweather retired after his unanimous-decision win over Andre Berto in September last year, but per ESPN.com’s Darren Rovell, his company recently filed trademarks for "TMT 50" and "TBE 50.” The veteran’s record currently sits at 49-0, the same as former heavyweight champion Rocky Marciano.

With sole possession of the greatest undefeated record in boxing history within Mayweather's reach, most pundits assume the 39-year-old will return to the ring at some point. Per Showtime Sports, he recently revealed he has been talking to networks and could be open to a return:

Money said he’s looking for a bout worth “nine figures,” and McGregor, who is one of the biggest stars in combat sports today, would likely be an opponent who could make such a megafight happen.

The Notorious recently retired and then un-retired from the UFC, and Dana White, the organisation’s president, made it clear the Irishman won’t be competing at UFC 200 on July 9, per the Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire. He was supposed to headline the event in a rematch with Nate Diaz, who beat McGregor at UFC 196 on March 5.

That leaves the 27-year-old southpaw without a bout on his schedule, although he’s expected to defend his featherweight title against the winner of the fight between former champion Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar at UFC 200.

While McGregor is known as an excellent stand-up fighter with superb hand speed and punching power, he would find himself out of his comfort zone against one of the greatest defensive fighters boxing has ever seen.

Money is almost unhittable and is a master of moving around the ring. Combined with his ability as a counter-puncher, he shouldn't be troubled by McGregor should they ever meet.

Money would possibly abandon his defensive style and just whoop this mufugguhs ass. No contest. Get that 50-0 record.

Its quite the opposite actually.

UFC/MMA gains ALOT more from attaching their name to Floyd then Floyd gains in attaching his name to theirs.

For the record I dont believe this story one bit. Floyd would never share his money with Dana and Dana would never release his biggest star just so he can get embarrassed in a boxing ring.

If true this is EASY money for Floyd. McGregor weighs as much as GGG walking around at 170. Why not fight GGG?

Win or lose Floyd gets 144M , dammmmmn.
Y'all gonna get enough of calling that flat faced cac's name. Floyd would beat him easily. Dude has no movement, isn't very fast, and isn't busy or engaged the entire round. He's a harder hitting canelo.

Plus, if you that excited to see triple g fight, why he running from andre ward?

He'd be crazy to not want to cross promote this. It's a once in a generation event. The attention and money this would generate would be incredible.

Bullshit.

Whenever a boxer/mma fighter crosses into the other sides arena the results are usually disastrous.

An MMA fighter would get humiliated in a boxing ring against even a c-list fighter and a boxer trying to get into the octagon would be embarrassed just the same.

McGregor going against a hof'er and boxing great like Mayweather in a boxing only fight would damage not only McGregor but UFC as well

The only way Dana would approve this is if it was MMA and in the octagon.

So in short this story is bullshit.

Dana white is first and foremost a promoter. Them motherfuckers are greedy. He teased a fight between Mayweather and Sherk back in 2007 (yes in the Octagon) but there is no way he would turn down the money that this fight would generate.

He would ultimately lose money though.

McGregor isn't anywhere near the draw someone like Mayweather is which means Mayweather and his promotion arm would control and take the lion's share lf everything.

After that you hace a fighter whose brand is damaged and very little to show for it.

Dana would never let a fight like this happen outside an octagon and outside his control.

McGregor is already damaged goods. Minus whale take the biggest payday he'll ever make and take a cut and promote UFC in the meantime.

This. GGG is ducking the fuck out of Ward. If he was black CACs wouldn't even be talking about him without him beating Ward. I do think a Money vs McGregor fight is BS. Probably couldn't even ger sanctioned. I hope Money takes an easy few fights, beats the record and bounces as the GOAT.

Knew it was bullshit from title. This confirmed it. If this were to ever happen Conner would be looking at 20mill payday at least.

Because one is a boxer and one is not... Not to mention its all more than likely bogus to begin with.
