this truck is gonna kill the competition, it will sell like hotcakes literally.

It's a wrap ford is killing the game brehs

The newly proposed ev tax credit favors Ford and unionized US auto makers. If this bill passes, they will definitely sell like hot cakes.

I don't buy any of this. Ford
announced a product and a price,
then offers pre-orders. I don't
think they can just raise the price,
can they? I'm no lawyer but I think
that would be illegal. I am looking
forward to the prices that they
posted. I want the Lairiet model
and that one I'm already figuring
will be close to 70-$75K. I'm
willing to pay that but that other
stuff your saying sounds like
price gouging. I hope you're
wrong on this one.
Not Ford Motor, but dealers.

Not all dealers do the mark up thing, but those dealers sell out of inventory quickly because they get hit up by everyone looking for the best deal. Good luck to you @CoTtOnMoUf. I hope you get one at sticker and don't have to deal with a bunch of BS to get one.

That's one of the reasons I pulled
the trigger. They said Ford only has
a limited amount of $7.5 K federal
tax credits to give to their
customers (I thought the feds
gave out the credits :dunno:) and
people are buying the reservations
like fucking crazy so I said fuck
waiting for a couple more years. I
bought the reservation and I will
be able to order this fall and
have the truck early spring.
I heard about that Tax Credit issue too. Good luck on the purchase.
Check the rules in your state. Some states are disallowing the tax credits.

Tesla open the door to this but Ford Is going to knock down the whole building if this is very successful.
It’s an automatic success due to all the construction companies across America.. they will easily try to stock up on these for the fact of less expensive due to not having to gas up vechiles and oil changes.. all that room to stock shit in the front trunk and rare trunk.. dudes who work construction and other biz where they need trucks will cop

Not all. When the Supra was in super high demand, there were some dealers that didn't mark them up. A lot did, but some sold at sticker.
Sometimes, it's not all on the dealership. I remember when this Chevy dealer got one of the new 'Vettes, they priced it @ 135k, because the wanted to hold on to it, and they KNEW no one would offer that. Somebody in Texas begged to differ.

I went my dealer and I asked him about some dealers marking up and he said that some greedy dealers "could do that" but he said that his dealership always have a 1 percent under msrp when they run these type of pre-order deals. He spoke on the Bronco and everyone went crazy buying them on the pre-order and they priced them just below msrp. He also said that because they are a commercial truck dealer, they don't play that type of game with their customers because companies buys a lot of trucks from him. I told him that I'm gonna hold him to that statement. :)

Be ready for the added costs & needed expenses.... the in home charging station etc., not saying that you can't afford it.... just that are extras from the door.... can't find the thread with the article that I posted, but this will do... and also since the states won't be able to tax gas on an EV..... they're considering taxing Kilowatt hours of charging...

They're gonna fuck them good in California with a solar charging station at home.... Bill Maher went through like 2 or 3 years of hell just jumping through flaming hoops to have solar panels at his crib.... a small solar set up. going through the "proper" channels with permits, inspections etc. :smh:

EVs are going to be the norm
before we know it. The petroleum
industry and everyone who
profits on it hates the change
that's coming down the pike..
They can't stop it though.

In the future, Ford will introduce Ford Intelligent Power, which can use the truck to power homes during high-cost, peak-energy hours while taking advantage of low-cost overnight rates to charge the vehicle in time for your morning drive. This can help save money on electricity that powers your vehicle and home while also taking pressure off the grid in peak usage times.

Here is a Ford Lightning hater, lol.

This dude is the worst ev reviewer, I stopped following him a couple years back. He used to put up troll videos nonstop about Tesla like Elon personally fucked him over on some shit. All he does is regurgitate ev news & really brings nothing else to his page. He was promoting this Ev company called Byton heavy who he was likely getting paid from & they failed to go into production.

Ford’s F-150 Lightning launch event is set for April 26th
Once deliveries start, how long will it take to clear the queue?

Ford-F-150-Lightning-recebe-um-alcance-confirmado-pela-EPA-de-750x375.jpg

Ford has made a lot of promises about its first electric F-150, and now the battery-powered pickup truck will begin deliveries in a couple of weeks. Ford CEO Jim Farley tweeted “it’s time,” announcing that the F-150 Lightning “strikes” on April 26th at 1:30PM ET.

As you’d expect for an electric vehicle launch, there is a countdown timer, but the question that anyone who pre-ordered will want to be answered is “when will I get my truck?” We know that Ford has already taken steps to prevent dealers from jacking up prices and to keep buyers from quickly reselling them to the highest bidder, but the supply will likely be tight, at least until it can reach production goals of 150,000 trucks per year.

For now, if you haven’t already pre-ordered, Ford isn’t even letting you put your name on the list at the moment. After the launch event, Ford scheduled another livestream at 9PM ET on the same day to show future owners more about what they can expect, and it says it will have more streams every month.

When we saw the F-150 Lightning last year, we could confirm it was a truck — and recently the EPA’s range estimates added an extra 20 miles to the stats Ford had already claimed. Still, we’ll have to get some time behind the wheel (and inside the massive frunk) to see if it lives up to the standard of the F-150 name and the expectations set by competition from Rivian, Tesla, GM, and others.

Stakes are high for Ford and the fate of electric cars as F-150 Lightnings leave lots

The Ford F-150 Lightning is starting to be delivered: a critical milestone for Ford. Auto makers have staked their futures on electric versions of their popular models, and they can't afford missteps.

In the race to build electric vehicles, most automakers are chasing Tesla. Now Ford is making its biggest splash yet as it starts to deliver an electric version of its F-150 pickup truck, the country's bestselling vehicle. The stakes are huge, not just for Ford, but for the future of electric vehicles in the U.S. NPR's Brittany Cronin has more.

BRITTANY CRONIN, BYLINE: Nick Schmidt was at home when he got the call. The electric pickup truck that he reserved over a year ago, the F-150 Lightning, was finally ready to be picked up.

NICK SCHMIDT: When the dealership called me, they were just as excited as I was. I remember coming up to the parking lot, and they were all, like, gathered around. Everybody came outside.

CRONIN: And this wasn't just any F-150 Lightning. It was the very first one to be delivered. Schmidt lives in Standish, Mich., a town of 1,500. His whole family farms, and pickup trucks are kind of, like, their lifeblood.

SCHMIDT: Oh, yeah. Yeah. F-150s, 250s - I mean, they're literally tools for most of my family.

CRONIN: Schmidt works in clean energy. He loved his gas-powered F-150, but he wanted something electric. He says the Lightning is just as powerful and dependable as his conventional F-150. He uses it to haul dirt and lumber around and to tow his Airstream. And the acceleration is unlike anything he's ever experienced.

SCHMIDT: It's fast. I mean, for a big, full-sized pickup truck, it'll do, I think, 0 to 60 in 4.2 seconds or something, which is unheard of.

CRONIN: It was a big moment for Schmidt, but maybe an even bigger one for Ford. Ford and other automakers are desperately trying to catch up to Tesla, which dominates the electric car market. Sam Abuelsamid at Guidehouse Insights says automakers are spending close to $200 billion over the next five years just on electric vehicles.

SAM ABUELSAMID: There's a lot of money at stake. And if they're going to build millions of EVs now and try to convert the entire industry to electric, they have to have products that people actually want to buy.

CRONIN: And that means pickup trucks. GM is rolling out an electric Silverado next year. The Ram truck is also going electric. And automakers are watching Ford's launch to see if this gamble will pay off. Still, Ford couldn't be sure that fans of its salt-of-the-earth classic American truck would embrace an electric version, so Ford went big on advertising. They even got Jimmy Fallon to evangelize about the frunk in a spoof music video.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG, "JUNK IN MY FRUNK")

JIMMY FALLON:
(Rapping) When the trunk's in the front, then the truck's got frunk. So I store my stuff in the...

CRONIN: The glitz and glam of late night aside, Ford and other automakers are in a tough spot right now. After years of buildup, Americans are clamoring for electric vehicles, and automakers don't have them. Shortages, rising costs, COVID factory shutdowns - the auto industry has been up against all of it. And even if you can get your hands on an electric car, they're really expensive. Schmidt paid about a hundred grand for his. Plus, charging is still a big issue.

SCHMIDT: We took it on a - basically a 300-and-so-mile trip the first weekend we got it and ran into an issue, like, where we couldn't find a charger.

CRONIN: He worries that public charging infrastructure just isn't ready for long trips. And while Schmidt is all in on electric, he thinks about his family on the farm, and he's not sure they're there yet.

SCHMIDT: I'm still waiting for that moment when, you know, my Aunt Jean comes down the road in an EV, and she's enjoying it, and it's just something that she felt comfortable to buy.

CRONIN: It's the Aunt Jeans of the world the automakers need to get electric vehicles to take off.
