This was a great breakdown

Ol' Hobbs thoughts on GOT:
1. Dany should have executed Tyrion for the treasonous act of letting his captured brother Jaime go free.
2. After Tyrion's execution, Jon Snow's regicide of his Aunt/lover Dany should have been followed by Grey Worm walking into the Throne Room with the Unsullied to see Drogon flying off with Dany's body after having melted the Iron Throne. This would have mirrored Ned Stark's walking in to find Jaime standing over the Mad King's body many years before the events we have witnessed the past eight seasons occurred. Jon and Grey Worm then should have squared off in single combat, with Grey Worm killing Snow.
3. Arya and Sansa, angry over their brother/cousin's death, then should have marched south to fight Grey Worm the Unsullied, and the Dothraki. Arya should have been killed in combat, thus rendering a sense of irony that she could destroy the Night King and the Army of the Dead, only to be slain by the living.
After a Pyhrric victory by Northern forces, the remaining Lords of Westeros still could have met in the Dragon Pit and decided to end blood succession to the Iron throne by instituting a form of monarchy-Democracy.
5. Sansa, now Queen in the North, should have married Lord Gendry Baratheon, thus fulfilling King Robert Baratheon's dream of uniting his family with the Starks.
6. Looking back, I always struggled with the whole Unsullied concept in that the writings of Dr. Frances Cress Welsing always were in the back of my mind, particularly her theories about envy of African males. While a fierce fighter, Grey Worm lacked the "sack" while leading the sack of King's Landing; he should have shanked everyone in sight last night. Simply put, Grey Worm got played--period.
7. I thought the idea of the Dothraki walking around just laughing and chilling in the new King's Landing seemed off, being that they were supposed to be a nomadic group of conquerors and whatnot, not carpetbaggers looking for real estate and other business opportunities in Westeros...
8. While Bran's story was an interesting arc at times, the idea that he no longer "wanted"--only to want the Throne--made little sense to me. For the past two seasons, he told everyone he was no longer a Stark, but the Three Eyed Raven--only to seemingly yelp "Yippee" when the chance to rule was granted.
9. Patriarchal misogyny rules: That neither Dany, Sansa, Arya, Yara, or Brienne were able to ascend to the throne-- passed over for a disabled man-child in Bran the Broken, reinforces fictional patriarchy that mimics real life. That the women were at the council meeting in the Dragon Pit and did not lobby for one of them to ascend to lead the entirety of the seven kingdoms reminded me of those women who supported Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. Yeah, I know Sansa is Queen in the North, but it would have been SO fitting that the girl who was tortured by Cersei, King Joffrey and later the Boltons, rose to rule over everyone upon the death of Dany.
Overall, I was kinda disappointed in Season 8, but I still enjoyed many parts of it all the same. The show remains one of the all time best, and while I had even moved it ahead of The Wire as my #1 fave of all time, I now return it to a strong second place finish. Season 8 is THE reason for the demotion. To be fair, I thought that the last episodes of The Wire, The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire sucked, too--but not the majority of the last seasons of those shows. Which means that series writers have to know when to fold 'em...
In hindsight, Game of Thrones should have had only a few episodes after Cersei blew up the Sept of Baelor. Dany should have headed straight to Kings Landing to beat Cersei with her three Dragons, met Jon Snow, fell all in love, and learned about the White Walkers, and then marched north with her nephew/lover to defeat the Night King. Jon still could have learned the truth about his heritage and either wed Dany, or told her the truth to retreat to "The Real North" with his boy Tormund and the Free Folk...
What say you?"
