yes - keep in mind that Succession's stories are based on a blend from the Busch family (AnheiserBusch) and the Murdoch family (NewsCorp & Fox) - both mediocre mega brands with great but under utilized assets and properties
there is ego involved thats why the deal that was good enough under Logan - A side and B side had parity
- but now with Logan gone there is a perception of only one real boss in the deal

This felt like a full circle episode which is truly nearing its ending. Logan’s presence was felt all throughout this episode alongside the episodes of the former seasons. There literally was some iteration of both in all the characters.

Tom, a stranger to both groups, looking for footing, while standing up to Shiv and slinging mud at her..
Shiv kicking him just to see if he’d come back to her .. (classic Logan btw)
Kendall riding to Takeover heading to work ..
And Roman.. the little chihuahua that finally bit back. Actually proud of him standing up like that. When he called Mattsson a “fucking inhumane-dog..” I lost it lol.
Plus the whole “company retreat” feel of the entire episode like when Logan would have family outings or whatever ..
Great episode all around.
Sidenote: I wonder if Mattsson pulls the plug on this deal before he signs anything ..

That opening reminded me of when Orson Welles and Barry White got pissed off while recording commercials.I liked what was happening between Tom and Shiv.
I also thought Kendall was going to go down in flames with complete flop sweat but he was able to turn it around.

There was a cringe moment when Kendall kept repeating “big shoes .. big shoes ..”
Shiv’s playing chess with her brothers now and those two can’t see past their own power trips. When the dust settles, she might be in pole position.
Tom being Tom and telling Shiv that keeping all her options open is dangerous but is doing the same with her and the brothers.
And not Greg heading up the AI department. I chuckled at the “great editing” bit.

Exactly that. Shiv has been desperate to stand alone since the early seasons. She left the campaign and media journalism positions to work for her father, only to be screwed by him time and time again. She’s always one step behind trying to prove her worth to someone (even this last episode she’s cast as the outsider to Roman and Kendall’s plot to destroy the deal) but she’s finally playing both sides of the coin, that may land in her in the ideal spot when it’s all said and done regardless or where Waystar lands, either with the Roy’s or the Norwegian.
We’ll see what transpires.
