Bibas family threatens to sue Israeli regime over propaganda ruse

Wednesday, 26 February 2025 10:56 AM [ Last Update: Wednesday, 26 February 2025 10:56 AM ]

The relatives of Israeli captive Shiri Bibas has demanded that the Israeli regime stop exploiting their family members’ deaths for propaganda purposes, threatening to sue the regime if it continues to publish details of their deaths.

The Bibas family made the request on Wednesday, a day after Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed details of the deaths while speaking before the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

The Bibas family called on Netanyahu to stop making statements shifting blame for the deaths of their loved ones, threatening to “take all legal measures at their disposal” if Netanyahu’s cabinet refuses to comply.

Lawyers representing surviving members of the Bibas family also demanded that all parties be instructed “not to contact the family, nor to speak with any professional party entrusted with conducting the examinations regarding the circumstances of the murder and the condition of the deceased.”

The family of Israeli captive Shiri Bibas has confirmed that Hamas has returned her remains.

Yarden Bibas, 34, his wife, Shiri, 32 and their two sons, Ariel, 4 and Kfir, then 9 months, were taken captive from Kibbutz Nir Oz on October 7, 2023. Yarden was taken to Gaza separately from the rest of his family.

Efforts to release Shiri and her children during a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas were unsuccessful. Hamas later announced that they were killed as a result of an Israeli airstrike on Khan Yunis city in the southern Gaza Strip.

Hamas handed over their bodies on Thursday as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement that took effect on January 19.

The Israeli Institute of Forensic Medicine claimed that Bibas and her children were murdered in captivity.

However, Hamas has said that the mother and her two children were killed in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza in November 2023.

Israeli regime, which killed Bibas family during its genocidal war on Gaza, is now blaming Hamas for it to derail the ceasefire deal and intensify aggression against Palestinians

Back in January 2024, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, released video footage in which Yardan Bibas admitted that the regime forces killed members of his family as they indiscriminately targeted neighborhoods in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Israel launched its brutal Gaza onslaught on October 7, 2023, after Hamas carried out its historic operation against the usurping entity in retaliation for its intensified atrocities against the Palestinian people.

The Tel Aviv regime failed to achieve its declared objectives of freeing captives and eliminating Hamas despite killing over 48,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, in Gaza.

Talks under way in Egypt for second phase of Israel-Hamas ceasefire

Israel says unclear if there is ‘common ground to negotiate’.

Talks have started in Egypt for the second phase of the Israel-Hamas ceasefire in Gaza, the first phase of which ends on Saturday.

Officials from Israel joined mediators from Qatarand the United States in Cairo on Thursday for “intensive discussions”, Egypt’s state information service said.

US President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, Steve Witkoff, may join the talks.

Talks over the second phase of the ceasefire are meant to negotiate a complete end to the war, including the return of all remaining living captives in Gaza and the complete withdrawal of Israeli troops from the territory.

According to Israel, there are 59 captives remaining in Gaza, 24 of whom are still believed to be alive.

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said the government is uncertain about the prospects of reaching a deal, adding the Israeli team in Cairo would have to “see whether we have common ground to negotiate”.

“We said we are ready to extend the framework [of phase one] in return for the release of more hostages,” Sa’ar said at a news conference Thursday. “If it is possible, we’ll do that.”

It remains to be seen whether a deal can be reconciled given the declared war objectives of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who, with US President Donald Trump’s backing, has pledged to eliminate Hamas.

“Israel has been telling us for months now, with word and deed, that it doesn’t actually intend to end the war,” Mohamad Elmasry, a political analyst at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies, told Al Jazeera.

“Barring Hamas leaving Gaza, which is not going to happen, Israel is fully intent I think on going back to war.”

Hamas says Israel ‘planning to escalate again’

The negotiations come after Hamas handed over the remains of four captives overnight on Thursday, in exchange for more than 600 Palestinian prisoners, in the last planned swap of the ceasefire’s first phase.

Israel had postponed the release of 46 of these prisoners, all women and children, due to delays in verifying the bodies of four of the captives it received.

Further violating the terms of the deal, Israeli officials said they would not withdraw as planned from the Philadelphi Corridor – the long strip of land bordering Egypt. Israel’s military is supposed to begin pulling out of the corridor on Saturday and finish doing so within eight days.

Hamas official Basem Naim told Al Jazeera he believes Israel is “planning to escalate again” despite Hamas being “committed to the deal”.

“We have already done our duties according to the deal, and we are ready to continue implementing the deal,” said Naim, adding the group should be actively involved in phase two negotiations.

The ceasefire, which began on January 19, halted 15 months of war that erupted after Hamas’s October 7, 2023 attack on southern Israel that killed about 1,100 people and took more than 200 captive.

Israel’s war in Gaza has since killed more than 48,000 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children, according to Palestinian health officials, while displacing more than 90 percent of the enclave’s population and destroying most of the Gaza Strip.

CBS NEWS
February 28, 2025

The Trump administration has approved a major nearly $3 billion arms sale to Israel, bypassing a normal congressional review to provide the country with more of the 2,000-pound bombs that it has used in its war against Hamas in Gaza.

In a series of notifications sent to Congress late Friday, the State Department said it had signed off on the sale of more than 35,500 MK 84 and BLU-117 bombs and 4,000 Predator warheads worth $2.04 billion.

The State Department approved Israel's purchase of Caterpillar D9 Bulldozers and related equipment for an estimated cost of $295 million. Deliveries by the Irving, Texas-based company are expected to begin in 2027.

The Defense Security Cooperation released a statement confirming a munitions sale to Israel for an estimated cost of $675.7 million. Repkon USA, located in Tampa, Florida, and The Boeing Company, located in St. Charles, Missouri, will manufacture the equipment, which is estimated to be delivered to Israel beginning in 2028.…

These numbers ain’t sitting well with Israelis. This why that ceasefire happened

That’s what I was talking about in my previous post some even talk about 8000 soldiers dead , the impact within the IDF ranks is huge and you‘ve got those idiots Bibi & Co. acting as if they’re dealing with the IDF from the 70s

The IDF can only prevail against countries respecting ceasefire (Lebanon) , collapsed regime (Syria) or lead by sellouts (West Bank ,Syria) in absence of those three conditions…… it’s ass whooping session as the Hamas, Iran, Houthis and the Hezbollah demonstrated !
