White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre:

"We hope that the talks will take place tomorrow in Qatar as planned. It is essential to reach an agreement. The resumption of talks is an important step in this direction. The hostages must be released and the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza must be alleviated and tensions in the area reduced."

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told the Turkish parliament that he intends to revisit the Gaza Strip, even if it leads to his “death.”

He also said that Palestinians will not “accept any solution that divides our territories.”

More statements from Abbas:

▪️We will rebuild Gaza, heal our wounds with the support of the Arab and Islamic nations, under our independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

▪️We urge everyone to support us in releasing more than 10,000 Palestinian detainees in Israeli jails.

▪️The Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem and the West Bank are a geographical unit that forms an independent Palestinian state according to international legitimacy.

▪️Israel is waging a genocidal war against the Palestinians, having killed more than 40,000 people.

Glad to see our tax dollars being put to good use. We don't need that money anyway. At least we helped them break a Guinness world record.

Edit: Actually, this meme isn't true. But fuck them anyway.

“By late April 2024 it was estimated that Israel had dropped over 70,000 tons of bombs over Gaza, surpassing the bombing of Dresden, Hamburg, and London combined during World War II.”

I’m sure they close

Man I’m curious about a Hamas-less Palestine, how would that look.

From comments I’ve seen, many think the Palestinians would be way better off.
Hamas is now an idea

so as long as there is still an occupation...

The negotiations started a little late at five in the evening.

Accordingly, a decision was made to continue the negotiations tomorrow, Friday as well.

- Suleiman added:
From what we heard, the presence of the #Israeli delegation there tomorrow depends on the atmosphere that will prevail in the negotiations.

And the points of disagreement that are being discussed today in closed rooms are related to the following:
The ceasefire mechanism and the transition from the first phase to the second on the 17th day of the first phase, which means "ending the war".
Control of the #Rafah crossing and the Philadelphi axis.
The mechanism for inspecting and examining those returning to northern #Gazavia the Netzarim axis.
The number of living #Israeli prisoners within the humanitarian deal.
"Here, #Israel is trying to obtain the largest possible number of living ones".
Veto power on the list of #Palestinianprisoners to be included in the deal.

According to what I understand, there is no agreement yet between the two parties by the end of the first round of negotiations today.

- Suleiman adds:

The expanded political and security cabinet will meet shortly and will receive an update from the head of the Mossad during the meeting.
On the progress of the negotiations today.
Tomorrow the negotiations will continue and the picture will become clearer.
In #Israel, they hope that the last-chance efforts will succeed in reaching an agreement

Details of the negotiations in Qatar…

In order to push towards a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire in Gaza

Iranian Foreign Minister calls Qatari Prime Minister

US President calls US delegation in Doha

British and French Foreign Ministers in Tel Aviv after a quick visit to Beirut yesterday

US Intelligence Chief decides to keep the US delegation he heads in Doha until Saturday

Egyptian and Qatari delegations exert pressure on Hamas and Israel to reach mechanisms for implementing a ceasefire in Gaza

Hamas previously announced that it is committed to US President Biden’s initiative regarding the prisoner exchange process and a ceasefire in Gaza

The dispute is over the implementation mechanisms specifically in the Netzarim axis, where Netanyahu insists on searching those returning to the northern Gaza Strip, and also over the Philadelphi axis, where Netanyahu insists on keeping Israel’s representation at the Rafah crossing

As well as over the issue of the kidnapped, where Netanyahu insists that 33 kidnapped people from the humanitarian category be handed over alive, and Hamas says that it does not have this number in this category.

On the other hand, Netanyahu insists on deporting Palestinian prisoners outside Palestine and also refuses to release some prisoners that Hamas wants.

In brief

The negotiations are ongoing and according to Israeli political analysts, this time the deal may be done and the army supports the deal.

The American White House announced today that the negotiations are ongoing and the American delegation is working around the clock to resolve the differences.

Israeli media quoted Israeli officials as saying that the Philadelphi Corridor problem does not constitute an obstacle because the army, in cooperation with Egypt, will move to the alternative by placing underground sensors on the Egyptian side and around-the-clock aerial monitoring of the Egyptian-Palestinian border.

Regarding the Rafah crossing, it is managed by an Arab international force and elements of the Palestinian Authority approved by Israel may participate through civilian representation

The army also announced the death of a prominent Hamas commander from the Nuseirat Battalion.

Meanwhile, the 252nd Division operating in the Netzarim Corridor area in the center of the Strip killed several Palestinian fighters

US Central Command forces destroyed one Houthi control station in a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen, CENTCOM reported on Friday.

The attack against the ground control station was a preventative move to protect freedom of navigation and to make international waters more secure for US, coalition, and merchant vessels, CENTCOM said.
