I know if it weren't for affirmative action, I would not have had the 'Opportunity' to get in on the ground floor and outshine my peers. I used those opportunities to stack bread, experience and relationships then eventually started my own company. Even then, bidding on government contracts is some shit without a socioeconomic designation. Again, that goes back to affirmative action.
There's levels to this shit.
If your running a mobile car wash, then maybe you don't need affirmative action and I get that. But there's other segments of society that will only allow you the smallest chance if affirmative action is in place.
It's the regurgitated "bootstraps" talk when established legal and/or policy protections (government contracts, guaranteed set asides for Black owned firms for HUGE lucrative contracts that grow businesses, federal subsidies, etc.) for Black progress are on the chopping block.
