Kendrick's "Control" verse, was a lyrical challenge: Let's spit these bars and let the fans decide who is better.
Cole wasn't "outside," or in the mode to get in the studio then, cool.
But then Drake does a year of in his feelings interviews regarding the Control verse.....
Now more recently, Drake an Cole release 1st Person Shooter. Cole and Drake take shots at Kendrick.
Kendrick does "Like That." Basically, asking "Are you two mfkrs ready now or what?! Is the challenge on, or are you going to duck the smoke?!"
However since Drake responded to Control the way he did.... I do think K Dot really is dissing him. Like "it was all for sport and the fans, but you really feel some type of way.....cool." the asshole part of me understands, keep proding and provoking him until he either comes out to battle or backs out publicly.
Now that I think about it, 1st Person Shooter was the warning shot.
"I'm the U.N.O.," "the spiderman meme is me looking at Drake," why mention "the big 3," then say you and Drake are #1?....

Ok makes sense because at the time Control verse came out was around the time everyone was coming at Drake about ghost writers, so I’m sure Drake probably felt like the control was a low below, and was definitely in his feelings because everybody was coming at Drake then. I didn’t know he did all them interviews talking against the control verse.
I never thought there was any real beef with Kendrick and Drake. I think they’re all just recognizing each other as the peers of their class. And like you said, they just wanna do friendly battles and match wit with each other.
I’m waiting to see what The Game says because he starts getting in his feelings when his name isn’t mentioned among these three he wants to be a part of their rap battle so bad lol
Facts. Kendrick and Cole are just sparring and selling the fight now. I don't even think Kendrick would've even "dissed" Cole if Cole wasn't on First Person Shooter. I do however think Kendrick seriously dislikes Drake though. They've been taking potshots at each other for the better part of a decade now. Kendrick respects Cole. I don't think he respects Drake at all.
