This shit is hard to figure out. I'd hate to think that muthafuckas you've been cool with(in Mal case for fucking forever) that you'd cook the books to cheat out of money on some shit that took off thanks to all of your efforts. I still watch highlights of the old pod because there were some downright hilarious moments that still stand out. I do feel Joe wanted more money though, and he's definitely getting a much larger share now than he was b4. For Mal to still be this upset, its something there, not sure what it is though.
What's frustrating to me is this should be an easy thing to resolve.

Therein lies the problem Joe wouldn't show it to them. Said the accounting was fake, and on one form was a 6 figure mistake. I mean with everyone on the show now being salary, Joe makes a ton more than he did with Rory and Mal, which I can see being his plan to an extent. I feel he would've been ok sacrificing Rory, but Mal was his guy, and he had no idea the collateral damage would cost him both.
If you believe you were stolen from and you are entitled to more from an organization, go to court and get the issue resolved. If you aren't willing to do that over fake morals, move on with your life and stop talking about it.
Clearly, I don't know the truth of the matter, but it may just be Mal expected more from someone he called a friend and financially they weren't entitled to much more than they received. On paper, they weren't entitled to as much as they thought. I somewhat understand why they would get that idea of deserving more, but just because you help someone build a business from the ground up doesn't mean you were officially a partner.that being said you could go to court and argue that you are entitled to more than what you were given assuming you really did put in tangible efforts. You can request as many records as you want in the process. It's your lawyers job to poke holes in the documents provided.
Again, if your attitude is i'm so stand up that you won't go to court, you should keep the same principles and stop talking about it. Now maybe they did and I don't recall, but I thought Mal pulled the i'd never do that card. I fully understand Mal and Rory's mindset, but it's really turning into bitch shit to continue to talk about it, but not take meaningful actions.

Please believe Joe fires shots at them all the time. If I remember correctly they had a profit sharing agreement and Joe wasn't showing them the accounting so they had no idea if they were being paid what they were owed. Then when he finally gave them something there was a 6 figure mistake or 6 figures missing that drew a red flag. I honestly think its more than a money thing.
I'm not taking sides. Plus Joe may try to be a better man but it's clear who he is and he's shown his not above certain behavior. Mal on the other hand acts as though he lives and dies on his code/morals.
My point is go court and attempt to get what is yours or be the man you claim to be and stop talking about it. You can't keep talking about how you are a man of character and principles but all you keep doing is showing the opposite. By not taking it to court honestly it comes off like overall Joe doesn't owe them as much if anything as they claim. To be fair, maybe getting lawyers and taking it to court isn't financially worth it.
They didn't exactly leave with nothing. They got a deal and have name recognition. If you added as much value as you believe to JBP, do the same for yourself. If people are only really talking about them when they mention Joe, ultimately they are losing.it shows that on some level they still need him to be relevant. On the other hand Joe seems to still be thriving which Mal said wouldn't be the case. Why continue to give someone that type of power over you especially if the other claim from Mal at one point is it wasn't really about tge money.

From what I recall, they requested an audit but I don't remember further legal action being spoken on publicly. I could be mistaken but I thought Mal said he wasn't interested in going to court and it was more so about how he'd treat people he considered friends.
