At this point neither guy wants to fight Tom Aspinall either. They know he's the future of the division.
Tough to get a read on Jones too. He's a legend and if not the GOAT, easily Top 3 all-time.
Dominant for years, but didn't look too great vs. Reyes and Santos. And there was over a 3 year break from the Reyes fight to Ciryl Gane in March 2023. And we only saw him for 3 minutes there, as he schooled Gane immediately. Wish we could have seen him show off the full skill set again ...

Watch that old fight with him and Andrei Arlovski and you can see Aspinall struggling against a fighter past his prime. Take his striking away or work around it and he’s done.
It's amazing to see Alex's arrival in MMA in recent years. 2-division champ / multiple big wins / saved a number of PPV cards as a replacement on relatively short notice.
He's a fan favorite, and fighter's fighter.
