not me ...i blame Elaine n the coaches ...

bench Elaine and put Shelly on 2nd leg ...

why the fuck is ur fastest straight away runner running the curve ...?

They fucked this all the way up ...

go back n watch some relays when they put Shelly 2nd or last ...she eats up the track ...smh
I am pissed too Boss but its one of those things where if Elaine is up to run, you gotta make her run...anything else is disrespect even with her running getting increasingly worse as the Championships wore on...Jamaica doesnt train relays too much past high school so I knew the baton passing was gonna be weak...that team should have been strong enough that baton passing shouldnt have mattered...so it go...missed opportunity though...Jamaica is small and there is no guarantee that this golden era of track will last forever....so you have to win everything you can

Yeah the men are lagging...future looking bright on the womens side but keep an eye out for the Africans in the sprints....Mboma from Namibia was injured and didnt make the games and she is a serious problem in the 2...she won the silver last Olympics behind Elaine...she was only 18

Track & Field need to get their shit together. I missed all the live relay events today. They need to make this shit fan friendly and do a better job marketing the events and athletes. They have a unique opportunity to really grow the sport right now. They're in the middle of 4 straight major world events thanks to covid. You usually have to wait a couple of years between them. 2021 Olympics(Tokyo)..2022 World Championships...2023 World Championships again in Budapest...2024 Olympics(Paris).

It's a great time to be a track athlete right now. The governing body should be on their shit and figuring out how to capitalize on all the coverage the next couple of years.

Anytime Shelly run the curve Jamaica will always lose. Stop putting Shelly on the curve. Elaine wasn’t the problem. She deserves her spot on the team.

All of the women have handle themselves with grace and class through victory and defeat. It's been that way since last year. The only outlier is...:heavysmoker:
I feel like every time they win, wave, lose, or just breath they trolling that girl. I've noticed how after races the participates all seem to hug and pump each other up. Ole Smokey wasn't doing that. It just seems like a coordinated effect from everyone else to mess with her. With Steiner and Brandini winning Smokies time is up.

I would've preferred Brianna Williams lead off instead of Kemba Nelson but I do agree on putting SFP at the 2nd leg. She did good though on it though. The 1st leg time & that 1st baton exchange got me mad

Of course she deserves her spot but did you see her time versus Steiner?...she is clearly hurt (shit, she came 7th in 200m final)...Shelly is probably better on the 2nd leg but Shelly did the fastest time on the curve...out of respect, I would never bench her but looking at the race its clear that Jamaica lost because Elaine was hurt and the USA ran a perfect race

Track and field is not like basketball, football etc where you can just substitute an athlete because you think they are hurt. Track athletes earned their spots and if no test prove there is an injury or in a case where they can’t perform it is really up to the athlete. The minute you try to change up this system all bias will start roll in. This happen with Marlene Ottey and Jamaica years ago. Nothing with injury but she thought her seniority should have granted her a spot.

You guys keep saying Elaine was the problem, Shelly and Shericka need to switch leg. Elaine is right where she needs to be.

I agree with most of your statement actually. Elaine has alluded to some injuries. One in her shoulder and somewhere else that messed with her training. If you check, I said I would never bench her.

You think Shelly should have run the anchor? I wondered about that. It is what it is Boss. I think Elaine is hurt and that was part of the problem, but she definitely earned her spot so a suh it go.

Nah Shericka was the right choice for anchor. She has more power than SFP & it showed with how she walked down Terry. Less than 5 more meters & it would've been a wrap

I hate to sound superstitious but even when Shelly run a decent curve Jamaica lose. This is not the first time. Bianca Knight and Tiana Bartoletta used to kill Shelly on the curves in those 4x100m and none of those two runners are close to Shelly as a sprinter. Just take a look at all the relays from 2008 to now. This looks like Francis work he is a hard head sometimes.

You don’t put someone to anchor because of power.

If that was the case how in hell Ryan Bailey anchor for USA in 2016. Lol

One thing we know for sure Shericka is not a better 100m sprinter than Shelly at this moment.

Sometimes a coach will put his slowest athlete to anchor, case in point Ryan Bailey

But Elaine got burned with a leg that was clicked at 10.12 where Abby ran a 9.88. She by far had the slowest leg on the team.

Honestly, the broadcast showed the times for the baton change and it said the first baton change was Jamaica's fastest....that is hard to believe...to my eyes it looked like Elaine had to slow down so as not to go over the line before she got the baton and that's what seemed to fuck Jamaica up...but their machine said that was the quickest baton change so not sure if I should believe them or more own eyes

You seem to know more about the inner workings and if Jamaica always lose when Shelly run the curve, well me nuh believe inna dem ting deh, but if it always happen, that is tough to ignore

Elaine is close to the end of her glory days or this could be it for her. I am not saying she was at her best but I understand why she wouldn’t even give up her spot and the second leg was the only leg she could run now. World champs is a prize money event. Not many athletes are going to give up their money like that but if a formula always work, why change it?
Shelly had too much ground to close in on luckily she didn’t pull a muscle running that curve.

SFP has more experience and much better starts but Shericka has speed and the power/stamina to make up for what she lacks in starts. That was evident in the 100m finals as well as how much she was able to walk down Terry in the 4x100. That was the reason behind my rationale in having Shericka at the anchor. Same reason why Bolt was always the anchor for the mens 4x100s during their runs.

nah they had some relays where Bolt ran 3rd leg with Asafa as anchor
