I believe the perception is crude and unsophisticated. Isn't this the issue with Sha'Carri Richardson? The excessive tats, profanity, the way she talks, the bright colored hair and long nails along with the unconventional, not common american name...all feeds a perception of that "kind" of black person.

Where does it come from? eurocentrism..a convention we've all been conditioned to believe that anything NOT white or upper-class European based (cuz class is a definite factor) is crude and unsophisticated.
