I think she lost her momentum and rhythm..she had it going into the trials and as far as I can tell the Olympics would have been her professional debut. She turned pro in June of 2019 (got signed by Nike at that time) I can't find any races she did as a pro after that (everything I found references her college career)...then covid fucked 2020...so the Olympic trials seem like the first real pro thing she was doing. She had great momentum going into that..then all that got stopped.
So while it's shocking to us... it's not really surprising that she came in last considering the other sprinters were coming off the games and had rhythm and momentum from the competition while she was literally coming from a cold start. So I estimate it will take a minute for her to get that going again. Thats why I give her two or three meets to show progress..but yeah running her mouth only ups the pressure for her to get it together.
