Kat was not wrong about the Friday role.
Kat was definitely putting sauce on the "Rickey in a dress" thing.
Rickey says he was told he had the role after his audition. His manager even says, there was one more read for the execs. But the night before, the role changed to the Santa.
Rickey then goes on Club Shay Shay (and apparently has told this same story elsewhere) that he (Rickey) was supposed to be Money Mike, Katt was supposed to be Santa. Then at the last minute the roles switched.
Katt's story is: I auditioned for Money Mike, I made some changes made it my own, I killed it!
Nowhere in Katt's story does he mention ever auditioning or being offered the role of Santa. From Katt's POV, he only knew the Money Mike role. So there was no "switch."
Now Cube, the execs, producers etc.... may have told Rickey the role was his (for whatever reason), but after 201 auditions Katt really wowed them and he got the role.
Rickey tells the story like the role was stolen from him by Katt and he was relegated to a scrap part. Katt tells it like, it was up for grabs and I grabbed it and I had no knowledge of the Santa part. (Rickey's manager even says the studio sent out partial scripts for the Money Mike role)
I think there is a bit of semantics at play. But also Gary Owen said it, this was the role that defined Katt. Katt had so much shit going on behind the scenes around the time of that role, so for RS to tell the story that way. He took it very personal.
