^^^& yup

But a lot of that is self inflicted too

Twitter fingers, prison, beef with Ak, Wale, etc, Nicki break up, dancing for cacs.

That guy didn't help his cause
Exactly and kendrick has that same shit with drake. Drake is seen as this fake pop guy while kendrick is seen as the true to himself artist. Thats why money talk wont work with kendrick.

Hmmm... 30 years

Funny you kinda right the best battles both sides benefited or died

Jay Nas are fine True

Big Pac murdered Not their beef related

Jay Cam fine True

KRS hurt Shan True

LL hurt KMD and Canibus. Canibus had dope songs but in the end it didn't matter because LL was bigger. Kinda like Pusha and Drake, but we all know.

Kwame never recovered from Biggie Kwame wasn't really making music like that when BIG said what he said. But in the public eye you're right.

Twista Treach was nothing Nope nothing

Quik, Eiht both fine True

TI hurt Lil flip True

KRS Nelly Not much came from it

Eminem beefs are tricky but no violence True

Jeezy Gucci people died Career wise no one was hurt.

Common Cube fine True

Cube NWA fine True

50 hurt Ja (feds ain't help) And Ja was hurt by that beef.

50 v the game hmmm did it hurt Game career? No Game prospered.

Did drake beat Common? Common lost by getting moist over a woman and he admitted that.

Drake really hurt Meek Meek lost by not responding in a timely fashion.

Pusha hurt drake legacy True

50 and Rawse nothing happen True, Ross did gain respect for going at him.

Budden v WU Tang Shouldn't have really been beef but Joe got a black eye

50 beefs with everybody hurt NY rap as a whole. True

There are a LOT of LA AND NY rap street beefs I won't go into that caused death.

NY drill rap beef Chicago drill rap beef Gang shit

RIP King Von Moist beef over a woman.

So it isn't a clear cut answer. It really depends. A lot is depending on media and peripheral influence

In short, no one's career is generally going down the toilet because they lost a rap beef. But there are a couple of instances where it got worse for the artist.

And the turn on Ja Rule is still puzzling to me to this day.

You have to look at the point in which 50 attacked. Ja Rule went pop at that point basically. Rule was doing tracks for the ladies. 50 eventually did the same, but at that moment in time, 50 caught Rule with his pants down(no diddy lol). The timing was perfect.

50 didn’t just throw jabs. His first hit was so successful that it was a haymaker out the gate. The beat, the rhyme scheme and everything was perfect. Wanksta did Ja Rule in in one go. Lmao! Rule tried to get back into gangsta mode but by that point is too late.

Ja was actually competing with rnb artists. That was the difference. Rappers were doing it but were clowning themselves ja really thought he was r kelly.

Money talk definitely ain't gonna work.

BUT never ever ever ever under estimate a catchy hook and great production.

That never fails

Once you singing along quoting the record its a wrap

When my Mom God Bless her I miss her was packing the kids dinner and singing Back to Back?

I knew it was done for Meek

Bro I just got teary eyed remembering that very embarrassing.

So I say that to say this the song gotta CONNECT with the audience. And hate him all you want Drake is a master at that.

Listen I don't care what anyone says Wanksta???

That is truly one of the hardest best catchy diss records of all time.

Back in high school you was the homie.

And in fact?

"I don't believe you/your life on the line" is BETTER than Ether.

Real Spit...

I'm surprised at some of the polarization about Kendricks track...might be a mixture of some people not catching all the subtext, metaphors etc. and the shit going over their heads.... Might be a Stylistic preference thing, and with some others it might be an extremely heightened expectation due to the length of time that elapsed.

some might just be Kendrick haters who won't like or admit to liking his shit no matter what.....Just like the Drake Haters

But to call it mid or trash is disingenuous at best and a flat out Jim Crow Lie at worst.

I think some of the old heads might not appreciate the voice changes, and inflections that Kendrick does...they want more of a straight ahead aggressive spit over boom bap beat type shit....maybe they expected him to make a "blacker the berry (The diss track edition") and when it was a lil different than they expected it threw them off.

You nailed it.

Meek is cool rapper he aint a song maka rapper. Thats why he wanted Quainton Miller to work with him. Now kendrick is another level. Kendrick wrote a lot of songs for artists.

Basically he can do what drake can do. And to me he is the better rapper. I mean I dont wanna hear drake say nigga nomo

But right now isn't in question

In their primes?

I'm not betting against Cam or Mase.
Was in there prime ever in question?

I can only go off what would happen today and going forward. I never cared for either one of em personally. I give em their respect of course but there’s a reason why Hov and even bat an eye when Cam lamely tried to throw his shots at the throne.

Big L will always represent Harlem emceeing for me.

It do….but it don’t…like some podcasts what separates them from other podcasts is honesty. But shit I hope it’s not this bad where people can’t be real.
There’s a few for sure but it’s not the majority. Most brands and companies wanna be associated with family friendly content that’s available for mass consumption.

That boy can rap he is great artist writer vocalist and performer.

I don't know what else to say.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to appreciate both for what they are

Because they don't like or respect Drake so they're unwilling to give him credit for anything.

If I didn't like or respect someone I'd probably feel the same way.

Yeah Killa was one of my favorites back in the day...I still think he's one of the most entertaining emcees of all time in his prime.
When son said "niggas say i'm the best just not promoted right"
he was talking about me
I was AMPED when he signed to the ROC
We Hated on Mase, Bad boy and all the shiny suit shit (minus the LOX) up here...
took me years to appreciate him

He just needs to take his white ass in the booth and spit and it'll be respected.

What do you think Drake cares about more;

Spitting bars, being respected by the black culture with a higher chance of getting an L (in the eyes of the same culture) or dropping more radio friendly hits full of jabs, gaining no respect from the culture, but getting a W in the eyes of casuals (and the machines behind him)?
