Schoolyard rules...Why he ain’t do this shit to Pusha? Or Common?

Schoolyard rules...Why he ain’t do this shit to Pusha? Or Common?
I'm guessing, "Crooked Smile" off of Born Sinner and maybe the Miguel song "All I want is You," are probably the best "performing" songs he's been on
What's J Cole's "Hit" record?
Just curious.
You know what, I think this is a VALID question... because most of his hits of late are FEATURES...What's J Cole's "Hit" record?
Just curious.
^^^^
This is a great point...
Drake has used the J Prince excuse A LOT. Especially with Kanye and Push and I feel.like I'm missing someone
I know Serena was was upset about the Common diss. But Common diss was just so complete and professional.
Aubrey lately been dissing women. Dont like that. He tried to diss Serena's husband which was very very sucker-ish. I don't like him dissing Rihanna. And Megan too. And before that Kobe had to check him about dissing his wife.

You are 100% right there.
But the thing is Drake in his heart and soul? Wants THAT real hip hop head respect. The money power women success awards being am international icon should be way more than enough.
But the respect of your peers and idols is different.
There are gods of rap who never had a popular hit record on billboard per se..
But got street Classics that will live forever and solidified their name.
Drake DOES respond and hands out disses on a regular basis. He just does it in his own way and always has. Sometimes he feels motivated to do more like he did with Push and especially Kanye. But artists as big as him aren't always going to feel pressed the way some hip hop heads think he should.DRAKE:
It bothers me when the gods get to acting like the broads
Guess every team doesn't come complete with niggas like ours
That's why I see no need to compete with niggas like y'all
I just ask that when you see me you speak up, nigga, that's all
Don't be ducking like you never wanted nothing
It's feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged
Back when if a nigga reached it was for the weapon
Nowadays niggas reach, just to sell they record
Bro...just stop. Nobody is making time for Common. And I'm a Common fan. You may want to see him battle that guy but he doesn't have to and nobody cares if he does or not. The "diet coke" joint was cool...I dug it. And again, it shows that Drake and Push are operating on 2 completely different levels. That song got some decent attention. Didn't affect radio. And insiders have questioned whether the views are slightly inflated considering the numbers vary for the song on different platforms. .but that's neither here nor there. Also I never said he didn't respond to either. It was asked why he didn't treat Common or Push in the same manner that he treated Kanye. And every situation is different. I could care less how he responds to any rapper. But some shit is just common sense. My point was that Drake haters ignore the soul destroying way he handled Kanye. He fucked that dude up mentally with one song. So if the question is "why didnt Drake take that approach with Common or Pusha"? My response would be "Well are they worth going that extra mile for"? I think that answer is NOPE.
You know what, I think this is a VALID question... because most of his hits of late are FEATURES...
EXACTLY. Kanye completely betrayed their friendship by telling Push what he knew after Drake did alot to help Kanye. So it's completely understandable why Kanye got that soul smoldering smackdown. That boy ain't been right since. He went the extra mile with Kanye because he had a personal relationship with him. Drake looked up to and was influenced by Kanye and was hurt by his actions. A few times.
He didn't know Common or Push so he didn't have a deep hatred for them or was emotionally invested in their beefs.
That Esmarelda Spaulding diss was COMPLETELY uncalled for... had a lot of people upset with him for that 1

True.. And I would ask the same question here as well. How big was the L that Jay took? It depends on your perspective. In the big scheme of things it may not have been a major loss. But that L is there regardless of the impact it may or may not have had on his career.People like to use the argument that Drake's L didn't affect his record sales...
Was it supposed to?
Did Ether slow Jay's record sales or diminish him in Hip Hop history?
No it didn't. He took the L and kept it movin just like Drake did.

Where did I say he doesn't respond?
Your response doesn't fit what I wrote at all I think it was meant for someone else
Unless this was some type of Drake level subliminal
Then in that case?
Well done
He felt the need to make a RECORD with the dude. Oh..the L is real. Ain't no doubt. The L was big enough to have Jay whimpering on the radio
But nobody thinks about it just like nobody thinks about Drake's.

MC Hammer shot his own self in the foot by blowing through too much money at one time. Doing his height no one wasn’t touching him. Now you could talk shit about him, but you wasn’t talking shit in Oakland about him that’s what damn sure…you had to do it from the outside.NOW YOU BRING UP AM INTERESTING POINT!!!
A battle (win or competitive exchange) USUALLY or I should say is supposed to have a serious financial effect.
LL did effect Kool. KRS did effect Shan.
Foxy and Kim benefitted.
Eiht and Quik benefitted
Maybe Hammer was hurt by all the backlash? But I think he just expired.
Biggie and Wu benefitted
You could argue Blueprint 2 underperformed because of Jay previous sales record but I disagree. The album was a little bloated. And still had b8g singles.
Nas always gets a pass because he straddled the line perfect between pop and street.
Biggie hurt Kwame LIFE with that one line.
Pac and Biggie sold MORE records.
Drake sold MORE after every battle.
I thing Pusha probably gained MORE fans but he also has Kanye and a ton of features.
Gunna is a certified snitch dissed by everyone and outsold them all.
So I think your right...
Nicki is fine. Megan, Cardi, Latto, Ice Spice, City Girls are all fine sales and fans wise.
While losing a battle doesn't necessarily HELP. Reputation in hip hop USED to be important.
I don't think it matters.
Meek Mill is kinda an outlier.
You gotta give Drake credit for that.
I'm saying man. I wasn't trying to disrespect Cole, just didn't think "Hits" when his name's mentioned.
He's talented and makes good music, but the words "Hits" was mentioned so I asked.

No you couldn’t talk shit about him anywhere. He had niggas wait for Ice Cube outside of Roscoe’s down in LA and ran up on him for the true to the game video. Cube pissed his pants. He also confronted Redman out in New York and several others.MC Hammer shot his own self in the foot by blowing through too much money at one time. Doing his height no one wasn’t touching him. Nah bro...I was speaking on the whole competition aspect of your point about getting respect from your peers. I'm pointing out that Drake competes but in his own way and wont always be a diss record for a single rapper. That's all.
EXACTLY. Kanye completely betrayed their friendship by telling Push what he knew after Drake did alot to help Kanye. So it's completely understandable why Kanye got that soul smoldering smackdown. That boy ain't been right since.![]()
Kanye did a lot of fouls shit. Told Drake that they're issues were squashed and then backtracked.
He got deserved what he got from Drake.
Kanye at the time had said he didn’t tell Pusha anything (why he later apologized, I don't know, maybe he got a call from J Prince)
But Pusha out of his own mouth said Kanye didn't tell him anything. IIRC Pusha also said something to the effect of his issues are separate from their beef, cuz they really love/ respect each other and can be friends and cool later. But has no reason to ever be cool with Drake.
Pusha stated 40 was pillow talking all the business..... I haven't seen 40 nor Drake refute that claim.....at all.
Yeah it's easy to think Ye was dirty macking, (and given his mental issues and recent behavior) but I gotta take Pusha at his word. He hasn't given me a reason to doubt him.
^^^^
co sign all that...
But I also know enough that Push would never give up the real source of the leak.
Pusha going full out of war. True or not Push had that man doubting and questioning everyone in the OVO circle.
So it's a win win win.
Sidebar... I used to not believe Drake and Push couldn't be cool because Drake ADMIRED Pusha. No exaggeration. People forget Drizzy a real fan of this hip hop thing. But again Drake like to throw girls and wives in his bars a lot. And Push LOVE his wife and to him Drake crossed a line. I used to think it was just an excuse but Push seemed to hold that position amd even his brother said the same.
Yeah people forgot that Drake loved the clipse and had Malice on a track on his 2nd mixtape back in 2007 the "do what you do" remix
Niggas favorite rapper was Phonte for crying out loud lol...the kid was a backpacker and a true lover/student that's why all the ghostwriting talk makes me laugh
Niggas hate Drake because he’s light skinned. It’s the Steph Curry, Klay Thompson syndrome. The whole light skinned niggas are soft bullshit.Yeah people forgot that Drake loved the clipse and had Malice on a track on his 2nd mixtape back in 2007 the "do what you do" remix
