I've listened to "Everlasting...." numerous times since "Like That" dropped.....mfkrs can't act like Metro straight sampled that.....he didn't he cut here, toned some sounds down, added a sick ass bass line.....he really snipped and flipped that beat into a monster!

Maybe phenomenal was a bit excessive, however it's the bar Aubrey himself set with b2b....a diss record, that had production and lyrics that is a certified hit song..... that's "Like That." 3 weeks at #1 and in its 4th week still #2 on the Hot 100!!

But Neither of Drake's songs are HITS. "Push-ups" is not on the hot100 and he had to remove that other AI song from platforms. But even still that was lyrical miracle 8 mile-esque type shit.....not a hit. Was it creative? Sure, but the beat sounded like some shit Dre made while comatose in his hospital bed..... and Aubrey can only blame himself. He set a certain bar with b2b, (and truthfully, Duppy Freestyle didn't meet it, but he needed bars against Pusha)....

I hear you.

I honestly don't have a side.

But I ain't a hater of either. I can appreciate both.

But like I said it's subjective and not as one sided as you keep saying

listen to them...

That isn't just impressive but legendary

I can honestly say I'm not a Future fan but those albums were good.

But I still don't want to hear anymore diss tracks from them.

Congratulations and salute to them to not letting the beef lose their focus on making quality music.

That's the thing outside of some subs on a few tracks and that one diss song the rest of the projects are really good. They've got like 18 tracks on the Hot 100..... damn near 20% of the hot 100 is these 2 dudes (and features of course)...... that's incredible

Future really grinded , there was a time he had trouble getting people to work with him. When he first dropped and his biggest notoriety was his verse on racks on Racks on racks he asked Drake for a feature and got rejected. Honestly I think that’s where the animosity started even though they worked together eventually he was pretty angry about that.

You’re taking this way too serious it’s an Ai soul remake .
Why do u think that? That’s a weak comeback or defense mechanism to tell someone their emotional state when they disagree with u, bitches and lil kids do that. I’m not anything but in disagreement that that shit was good. It was weird and fake and trash. That’s all. No emotion attached to it or anything.

You think that has something to do with Drake? I get it you hate him but that has nothing to do with Drake other than a computer making it a soul song. What exactly is so trash about it?

I may have expressed this in the thread already, but I think the shit was dangerous coming from the top mainstream hip-hop artist. It sets a nasty precedent. Drake is going to look like a real hypocrite when he sends an emerging artist a cease and desist for using a Drake AI-generated verse on their album.

The soul songs have absolutely nothing to do with Drake

Wait hold on I didn't realize you were on the hurry up K dot side! We on the same side!

Again disagree, this was one on my most enjoyable Cole experiences and I wasn't bored at all love that Cam record. I'm not the biggest Cole fan but that boy is good and gotten better.

And I can find just as many who loved the drake diss (and some love both of them - which I don't agree with)

It's music it's subjective

And sadly or maybe just predictably we will never really find consensus.

And I'm not saying you wrong I'm just saying many don't agree and I'm one of them.

as much as love it's just big me?

I loved I'm the you en oh (which I don't even consider a part of this mess)

And I love metro go play some drums.

So far... drake in the lead and I'm waiting for round 2.

There won't be a consensus because people fake hate Drake so much that they'll never give him credit no matter how good it is or when credit is due.

That "A.I." Pac and Snoop song was pretty hypocritical and dangerous considering Universal Music sent a C&D over a fake Drake and Weeknd song just last year...... but not before it racked up millions of streams on Spot and utube......

Now you have the top male hiphop draw not only embracing it, but blatantly using it!

UMG has not implemented a way to truly monetize AI for themselves (read "for the artists )

But once they do......... watch out!!

As much as I defend the song?

You ain't tell one lie on that part.

But I've also come to accept AI ain't going no where and these artists need to get their act straight. And Drake is a better ally to get that done as opposed to an enemy.

True.
Drake is bigger (no diddy) than damn near all artists, however....he is not above the whole music industry. There will not be an AI revolution until UMG figures out how to get their hands in the pot/ pockets.

Drake used it for the sake of art, not to fool anyone or to make money of of it.

And as I stated before I don't like, agree or condone any of the AI shit.

But the way that Drake used it was masterful, funny and damn near genius.

Kaboom

But I Never said Drake is bigger but he is one of the most influential

And the proof of just how much is when he used AI on this track a large part of the industry collectively said oh sh*t.

That right is kinda a win too.

Showing EVERYTHING he does creates waves.

Kendrick had to see THAT too.

Because his next track and album will be even more scrutinized

And to have artists in a tizzy about how what Drake does will completely reboot the entertainment industry?

Even haters have to admit making that argument just highlights just how influential he is.

And the truth is if Kendrick does this response right?

He can show the world just how f**king influential he is too.

Kenny f**k around and make a Damn 2?

People still say Drake don't have one classic (I disagree so far gone counts as one)

Woo boy.

All of that is cool, (and true even)

But similar to that damn Mouse, UMG can be a cold hearted pimp. If UMG can't see $$ it doesn't make sense.

Like I said they sent a C&D after a creative and masterful Drake and Weeknd song was released. Here's the thing, almost immediately it was labeled as AI. IIRC the "writer" even tagged it as such on SM to try to avoid issues......

So to have one of their premier artists turn around an do the same thing......

The optics are bad. No one said he tried to fool anyone or profit from it.

It's the PRINICPALITIES involved.

So Far Gone was a mixtape.

A damn good one! Yes a classic ( Wayne has a couple of those!)

Drake was only able to release it as an album after cutting (was it 2 or 3 tracks?) And he had UMG negotiate the producer splits...... nah fam, that doesn't count. I wish it did, but it doesn't.

I get it but I count it.

It's TOO GOOD.

It's like Weezy and Jeezy and 50

I don't care about billboard or RIAA.

in the hood? Those are undisputed Classics.

I ain't budging on that. That's goal post moving etc etc.

This hip hop right?

Ain't that what yall keep saying?

No rules sales don't matter Grammy don't matter?

I'm giving Drake that one.

Now if you want to say he ain't had a classic STUDIO ALBUM SINCE that mix tape?

Ok fine.

But I ain't about to say Drake doesn't have a classic album in his library.

There was nothing masterful and or genius about that AI shit; shit was beyond trash; should have stayed with the first diss; the only reason why anyone even talking about it is because Kdot has responded; thats on him though; that Drake shit was awful; any other artist doing that shit would have had their careers ruin; drake, because he has a machine behind, can survive that bullshit...

Y'all gotta stop overhypin this track. The beat is the song.

There's a quote....something, something "see the forest for the trees."......

The beat was 1 aspect of it. Future's subs was another, but Kendrick also uses his voice as an instrument (similar to Future).... K.Dots verse, all his double entendres, and his inflections paired with that beat made the perfect gumbo.

You don't have to agree with me and that's cool
But I promise you the beat is not the only reason that song spent 3 weeks at #1 and the 4th week at #2..... and it wasn’t Taylor or Beyoncé that beat them!
