I have to say lyrically this is an ill diss track, one of the best in years.

My only negative, if you can call it that, is I wish he would have went with a different track and flow since I don't feel this track will have the longevity of tracks like The Takeover, Hit em Up, etc.

But he also may not give a damn about that.

Also you're bugging if you think this is over. Drake can't afford to not respond to this after not responding to Pusha T.
Not being facetious, but people still bump takeover?

That ain't the point, Joe is not Black and Black folks have a right to state that they don't like hearing him use the fucking word. Growing up around us does not give him a pass because time and time again, people who get hood passes/cookout invites end up disrespecting us

Do you think your Black ass is gonna go around your wife's Asian family using slurs and speaking on Asian-related issues that you could never understand?
He never had to address this until southern rap took over. Once the south had a voice in the game, that’s when it became a thing. Most east coasters were used to this and never blinked at it. Probably still don’t.

This could get ugly for Drake...

Because being black is a COMMUNITY with shared experiences... no matter how far apart we are we all know and have the same life experiences.

If the hashtag #drakehasnever or something similar gets to trending on X with things that all of us have experienced, he'll be so left out.

Like #Drakehasnever been to a house with the lord's supper on the wall

#drakehasnever had to go in the house when the street lights came on

#drakehasnever seen plastic on the furniture

#drakehasnever smelled a hot comb going thru a woman's hair the night before Easter

Black twitter would CRUSH that boy soul

This isn't about rap at this point. Don't turn this into a regional discussion.

Go re-read my comments about how Joe became comfortable enough to make that empty-headed comment about Kaepernick's protest.

The issue has gone beyond the n-word and is an issue of outsiders overstaying their welcome in the Black community or doing something the Black community deemed to be racist or otherwise inappropriate and Latinos are generally the main ones doing that.

This concept shouldn't be foreign to yall, hell this whole conflict with Drake is largely about a Canadian kyoodle kike existing in a space he shouldn't be in.

I read your comments and I agree with you on the Kaepernick stance, but it has little to no bearing on the fact that certain regions care about the usage of the N-word, while other regions don’t. He’s an east coast cat, raised on the east coast, with east coasters that simply do not care about it the way southerners do.

Outside the south, particularly in the east and west, it’s used regularly. Dr. Truth said it correctly, when he said it was a losing battle because in order for the black community to gatekeep the word, there’s needs to be universal consensus and there isn’t. There’s a divide and that divide is regional.

As is such with the word, the greater context matters.
