Why should Wayne be performing? Super Bowl has been in New Orleans before he didn’t perform…
It is also due to Jay Z being hip hop and he took over in 2019 for the half time show. The previous stuff in NOLA was pre Roc if I remember correctly.Because after that Los Angeles-centric performance in 2022 people feel that the halftime show should feature New Orleans artists.

I've been having this conversation with a few people now, and I always make this statement and then get crickets.
Wayne is without a doubt one of the best rappers to touch a mic, and is influential and GOATED as any other artist that you can name in the last 10 to 20 years. Let's get that established and out of the way.
With that said, let's keep it a buck.
Wayne's catalog isn't palatable to an audience as big and diverse as that which will be watching the Super Bowl.
Most of his commercial success/Billboard hits have come in the form of features. Outside of "A Milli" and "Lollipop" he has had little to no individual radio success.
So here is my thinking. Just like @spider705 mentioned, Lil Wayne is one of the dopest MCs to come out. Grew up on Cash Money and Lil Wayne and can remember them performing at hole in the wall spots in the south before going big. Always been a big fan. One of my favorite rappers.Yall buggin
