well at the moment we're 2-0 against the bulls so......
For the hell of it.

1999 draft - 1 - Elton Brand
--------------16 - Ron Artest

2000 Draft - 4 - Marcus Fizer (WTF!?)
---------------8 - Jamal Crawford - selected by the Cavs. Traded to Chicago.

2001 Draft - 4 - Eddy Curry
---------------2 - Tyson Chandler* -- Elton Brand traded to LA for the rights to Chandler

2002 Draft - 2 - Jay Williams

2003 Draft - 7 - Kirk Hinrich

2004 Draft - 3 - Ben Gordon

2006 Draft - 2 - LaMarcus Aldridge* rights traded to the blazers for Tyrus Thomas and VIktor Khryapa. Thomas later traded for Flip Murray, Acie Law and a future first. To be fair to the bulls, even though they blew this draft the pick was a gift from the Eddy Curry trade. Thanks Isiah.

2007 Draft - 9 - Joakim Noah

2008 Draft - 1 - Derrick Rose

7 times in 9 drafts the Bulls selected players in the top five, 6 times they got players in the top three, and they've selected first overall twice.

And of all those players only two still remain on the team. The last two players to be drafted. So yeah, it's easy to talk shit NOW about the Knicks, but don't forget where the Bulls were just recently. They finally put a team together, but the best they are right now is third overall. If the Knicks make some moves or if Dwight Howard stays in the conference but manages to get Deron Williams to join him the Bulls won't be able to get past the Heat or any team with Dwight plus another star.

Great to see the bulls do well. They actually have players I like in Joakim Noah and Derrick Rose. But right now? They're getting out of the first round and that's IT.

Unless they catch lightning in a bottle that is. But even then there's no way they're going to beat Miami then Boston, or Boston then Miami. Just not happening.

What, are you worried that if the Knicks get Carmelo they may end up being better than the Bulls?

The Bulls arent a Championship team yet mainly because they dont have that legitimate two guard and extra offensive off the bench; i.e. offense that they can put on the floor so their PG Rose doesnt have to play 40+ mins a game in order for his team to win.

But at this point even if the Knicks get Melo they stil wont be even close to the level that the "non-championship caliber" Bulls are on. Why? Well because their defense is shit! Damn near the worst in the league for points allowed. Mike D'Antoni is a offense ONLY minded coach...he's always been that way. Melo would be a great fit for that EXTREMELY unbalanced system that they have in NY because he's a shit defender himself. The knicks also depend to heavily on their starting 5.

IMO...the Knicks wont be winning any titles until they get some bench help and a new coach. Then when they get that new coach he has to teach his new team how to play better defense. They have a decent offense already...how fast they learn how to play defense will determine when they win a title. I know that city hungry. Unlike Chicago...the Big Apple hasnt had a NBA title in over 37 years. Hopefully they can win one before old Spike goes senile...lol

As for the way the Bulls organizations is ran when it comes to scouting, drafts, etc....well theyre basically on the same level as the Bears when it comes to that. The Bulls, just like the Bears are ranked very high when it boils down to overall attendance, revenue etc. And thats all the heads of both organizations really care about judging from their past actions. Jerry Reinsdorfs baby is the White Soxs...not the Bulls. its been that way even when Jordan was here. Jerry LOVESSSSS Baseball. Thats one big reason out of many why a good effort wasnt put forth when they tried to construct the Bulls after Jordan left. They racked in enough cash during the Jordan era to sustain what they wanted to sustain. And after Jordan left they were still selling out, thxs to the most supportive fans in sports, while the team was shit. so yea....there was no rush to build.

The funny thing is the fact that the Knicks and Bulls hav a lot in common when it pertains to building NBA teams.

But anyways.....
Right now the Bulls are looking good. And despite being down 2-0 to the Knicks...they still look much better than the Knicks :D. Jerry, Pax etc knows that they have something special with this current Bulls team. From what I can see they SEEM to want to build a championship caliber team once again. I just pray my assumption is correct.

I'm not even shitting on the Bulls dude, so calm the fuck down.

What I'm saying is that for the better part of 12 years the Bulls front office has been as inept as the Knicks front office. The Bulls ineptness came earlier on, the Knicks? More recently.

Don't forget, it wasn't that long ago people were saying "who would want to go to Chicago?" There were no big free agents that wanted to go to that sinking ship. Sounds familiar? Same deal with the Knicks from 1999-2008.

The Knicks are just coming out of this, and if it weren't for the free agent classes they'd have tried to build through the draft instead. Even though the Bulls started to show signs of life a few seasons ago before Rose was even drafted they only started coming into their own THIS SEASON.

They made some solid picks. You gotta remember that they were pretty much an expansion team post-lockout. Gutted roster, new management, etc. But, they had the 2nd best run in NBA history and built one of the greatest rosters of all-time that transformed basketball so I think that definitely balances out a draft pick pitfall.

First off the Knicks do play defense. Just not through whole games and the worse defensive games we played usually happened because the other team had enough Bigs to bully us on rebounds that negates the defense. With the new center Mozgov we've actually have interior defense and our guards average a few parameter steals a game each. In the long term that maybe all the Knicks need to do in this systems. A high pace transition offense will create more shots for BOTH teams. This means for the Knicks to get to about 120 the other team will most likely reach 100. Even if teams score a lot on us that is acceptable as long as we get some defensive stops. This is the reason why we beat the bulls twice. In both games the Knicks played sustained defense for about 1 quarter of the game that led to them getting a higher score. I think in the last one their was a point where you guys didn't score for 8 minutes straight.......

Anyhow your complaints are based on the belief that D'antoni is a stubborn dude. He knows he is playing for his job. and has done his best to add defense to SSOL.

But honestly its cool for the bulls to start to talk shit they're getting their swag back these days and we are too and since both team are relatively young its likely we will be fighting for the celtics spot along with the heat and the magic once age catches up to Boston.

Didnt know that.

So are you saying that D'antoni is finally focusing on making his players play defense? So is the TEAMS lack of defense due to some PLAYERS not being able to stay on the same page or play D at all?

Amare and Chandler are good blockers. Felton has good hands for swiping the ball....but yet the team OVERALL is bad defensively. The Bulls actually only have a few good defensive players. Boozer is terrible! BUT AS A UNIT theyre one of the best in the league. They were actually good defensively before Tom Tibby came to Chicago. Is that due to good coaches, players knowing how to feed off each other and quickly adapt...or a little of both?

I know my team has issues...so im not trying to be arrogant about our recent success.....:D....I just dont think the Knicks can win, even if they get another superstar player under that current system.

You're missing my point. I am replying directly to Shaddy who's acting like the Bulls weren't a shitty team for a good 10 years after Jordan retired, and prior to Jordan they were a mediocre franchise.

What it proves is that ONE player could damn near turn around an entire franchise overnight. They were middling until they made that selection of Jordan, and were middling until they selected Rose.

In the NBA all it takes is the right trade or the right draft pick sometimes. Duncan being drafted, Gasol being traded for, Lebron being drafted, Dwight being drafted, Kobe being traded for.
