It's these type of events that makes everyone question the relationship they have with death.

I've been in deep thought. Some thoughts I would instead not share while people grieve.

I will say this, though, continue to live. Every basketball game I ever played in life; whenever there was an injury, we just replaced the injured and kept playing. The same goes for death, no matter how tragic it may be.

Continue to live. Moments come and go. Learn from the moments and be cool with the emotion (whatever that may be for you).

Death tends to make time feel like it has stopped, but I understand that's just me being stuck in a past moment. Continue to live, love, and play the game while you can because when it stops for you, it will not stop for others.

I've been on this board since 2007 and some of you kats are like fam and I've never met most of yall. Keep your heads up. Always.

Today...

Hug your kids, your wife/spouse, and appreciate them while they are still here on Earth.

I feel so bad for his wife, the siblings and the other family of her team mate.

Time is one thing you will never gain back or be able to buy in life.

Bless up to all...
Respect.

I watched as Kobe Bryant’s helicopter crashed and burst into flames

Firefighters work the scene of a helicopter crash where NBA star Kobe Bryant died Sunday in Calabasas.

I was sitting at my dining room table Sunday morning when I heard the whir of helicopter blades.
It was a foggy morning, with visibility at less than 60 feet. I looked toward a nearby window in my Calabasas home and heard a massive boom, followed by a few seconds of silence. Then a fireball erupted on a hillside off Las Virgenes Road.
I had no way of knowing the helicopter that had plunged into the Santa Monica Mountains hillside was carrying basketball legend Kobe Bryant, as well as his young daughter Gianna, and this crash would send fans around the nation into mourning.

It was 9:52 a.m., and I ventured out onto the street. Visibility was poor.
Using binoculars, I was able to see the aircraft had been torn apart and was on fire. It turned out the aircraft was a helicopter, and it was scattered in many pieces on the hillside.
In the ensuing minutes, a stream of firefighters arrived to tackle the fire. I was able to make it closer to the crash site, where I saw debris strewn across the hillside, still smoldering.
Closer to the scene, I also found others who had witnessed the crash.

Eyewitness Jerry Kocharian, 62, said he was standing outside the Church in the Canyon drinking coffee when he heard a helicopter that was flying unusually low and seeming to struggle.
“It wasn’t sounding right,” he said, “and it was real low. I saw it falling and spluttering. But it was hard to make out as it was so foggy.”
The craft vanished into the sheet of fog, and then Kocharian heard the boom and saw a fireball.
“No one could survive that,” he said.
Later, the L.A. Times confirmed that two of those on board were Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter.

Yea someone send me it too...man I couldn't even image what went through their minds..especially two parents with their daughters

there is no footage - we out here in LOS ANGELES right now telling how foggy and overcast it is out here still, hours after the crash... yet someone was close enough to take a full, clear video in the fog of the chopper crashing???

social media is good (in the fact that you get news right away) and bad (that you also get fake news right away)

we will have to wait for official word on all this...still, it looks like operator error in bad conditions in a rugged hillside area...and at the moment, that's it.

Kobe has been on my mind for the past few weeks for various reasons. One being my 9 year old daughter doing the "Kobe" shout as she took different shots around the house. I clowned that she didn't even know who he is...My friends and I were clowning off of his commercials, how they were funny...sending each other random "you're welcome" gifs... I even randomly reflected on when he'll be eligible for the HOF. And I wasn't the biggest fan. Mainly only a fan when he was giving the business to the Celltricks...but for some reason he was coming up in different convos and situations for the last few weeks. Then last night with him congratulating Bron. To have this happen today. Its fucking with me.

Sometimes you don't know how much you cared about somebody until they're gone. Such a big part of my life-- seemingly as long as I can remember, it's amazing he wasn't even ten years older than me. I had a long walk home and tuned into ESPN Radio, I couldn't help crying. The most shocking news of a death in my lifetime. I can't believe it. It still doesn't seem true. RIP.

There’s actually video of the crash circulating on the internet right now. It was reminiscent of the Space Shuttle crash back in the day. Smh.
