On a side note. I think A LOT of these young NBA players come into this league acting like the world owes them something, like they are on top of the world. I think they treat the league only as a source of income. Not many (if any) come in with the mind set like "im gonna be the GOAT...fuck what everyone talkin bout". Kobe came in like fuck everyone, Im bout to get crowned regardless and he KEPT that fierceness until they day he retired.
Im a huge Laker fan and have been since I could walk. I remember seeing Kobe shoot them 3 air balls in a row in the playoffs and while everyone was sayin "man who is this nicca? Take him out the game!!" I was sayin "man fuck that! We need someone like that! He gonna make the 4th one!". Me and him were the same age so I could feel that IDGAF attitude.
I truly hope that these players listening to these stories take this tragedy and allow them to really go after it. Day in and day out. First one to arrive and last to leave. Only 3 players right now give me that feeling. One is The Greek Freak, other is Luka and lastly Ja Morant. I dont know their work ethic but I can see the will to win and be great in them. Westbrook has that fire but his skill set isnt comparable. Luka needs to work on his defense and both Ja and Greek Freak need to work on their shot.
I want to hear more stories of these youngsters not taking their moment for granted and would love to hear them comment on this tragedy as being their motivation to be GREAT.
