Good music still drops, yall just ignore it and give attention to this
Agreed. Sukihana and Sexy Red are trash but far be it for me to judge people who like them, especially when I listened to 2 Like Crew and Akinyele when I was young. I can't say shit. I try to put that energy into listening to dope women emcees like Tierra Whack and Little Simz.

Besides Suki and SR won't even be around a year or two from now. It'll be some new 19 year old fresh off going viral on tiktok or whatever the poppin social is.

People bring up radio music from years past like those study didn't face scrutiny. The problem not only is this the new norm, it's the standard going forward. People ran off Missy, Mia x,LHill, etc remember. Nah fuck that, in a way some of y'all asked for this. And it's not about who made it, it's who is making them famous. You got che noir and a few others that won't see the light of day because they're not what the music business wants.

This probably isn’t the most clear thought to add but I’m still going to post it.

-This type of content isn’t new and will always be around. What is new-ish, is the belief and focus on this type of content defining what rap is. Check a top 100 rap list on whatever service you use. Is there diversity in the type of rap or what the songs are about?

-Artists have been talking about what the music industry does to rap but we the consumer act like it’s a mythical conspiracy. A few citations: Tribe rule #4080, Dead Prez Hip Hop, Lupe Fiasco Dumb It Down.

Clear enough, I would add the Telecommunications Act of 1996 to the mix as well.
