I have a hard time believing Romeo didn't get anything, but it's not impossible. I also believe it was more so Romeo trusted P in more of a partnership role at somepoint or at least that is how he was viewing it. He trusted his partner/father with his earnings until the day he thought he would take over the family business. It's possible Romeo discovered there wasn't much of a business and P never let Romeo see official numbers/paperwork. That is why Romeo is claiming he believed his family owned Rap Snack only to discover they did not for example.
I have seen similar situations. A parent had a business and paid the kids to work for the business. The kids either lived at the parents house or property owned by the parent and paid rent to live at both locations. The cars the kids had were really owned by the parents and the kids paid the car note. At this point I'm sure you get the idea. Technically, the kids were paid very little and were given the illusion of being paid more and being somewhat independent Everything went back to the parent.
Even though the kids knew the business, they didn't leave or do anything on their own because they were always told they'd inherit the business. The parent also controlled their personal lives to an extent because the kids were technically dependent on the parent. They were also hit with the great we are family line and family sticks together. Everything you do or dont do becomes about the family. outside of the skill related to the business they did not have any. Basically, they were being manipulated.
I'm going to believe a son that loves his father and has never had anything bad to say about his Pops until now. Ex wife said the same shit about P. You can go the spoiled kid route but it sounds like some shit you're dealing with personally. Be cool Bro.

Althought not having near the money of P, I got business and assets and have kids and an ol' lady. I setup everything. So yeah, Ol' lady relies on me. So I could be screwing her over, but I'm not. Same with the kids. My ol' lady is on business paperwork, but not in control. It's enough so if I pass, no legal problems for her.
Shit gets very complicated when family is involved. People who wage have no fucking idea what is involved. Those with businesses can only imagine how much paperwork P has. I can only imagine how he would set things up.
I get the aspect of when you are setting shit up that you don't want others having too much power, but you got to take care of them. You got to keep the paperwork in your favor and/or control everything. Because what people should get and what they think they deserve can come into play at any fucking time. And if they got good paperwork and/or control, they can fuck up everything.
And yeah, when money is flowing right. Kids can be dependent on the parent(through family business) or they can go be dependent on others through a 9-5.
We all know P is a great businessman. A lot of people up their image, so I don't fault that. And any businessman here can tell you just because it is in them doesn't mean it's in their kids. Businesspeople throughout history fell out with their kids because shit wasn't in them.
