i agree with everything you said. repubs need to step the fuck up and get some of these assault rifle legislation passed. no way in hell an 18 year old should be able to buy one of these as well as some other guns. make that shit like buying cars. they check every nook and cranny when you buy one. some people have to have a cosigner.....make it the same with these kids as well. bottom line it needs to be tougher to get one. i still feel like no matter what if you want a gun you can get a gun in this country.If you don't' have, can't buy, or own an assault / military style weapon you can't kill people in numbers like those slaughtered in Texas yesterday. It's just that simple. There a re 50 Republican and 2 bitch ass Democrats that are stopping any gun control legislation from progressing. Bet they'll change their turn if their kids start losing their lives to some asshole with an AR15.
Not for nothing a head shot from beyond 10 yards is not an easy shot especially when under stress. To make things worse, most cops don't train enough to be very proficient with their firearms. A lot of them do the bare minimum required to keep their badges. It's sad there are a lot of civilians with firearm accuracy skillsets on par with if not better than a lot of law enforcement. That in itself is a damn shame.

Maybe. But keep in mind, lawmakers had crazy people march into their place of work and threaten them on Jan. 6. Not only did they not act more sane after that, some are actively defending those same people that threatened them.
And even if the GOP had a real change of heart about doing anything, they would probably lean harder into the "more guns" argument. More guns is not the solution. If anything, it's probably going to lead to more gun violence. More unstable people with more access, more emotional people with a weapon nearby to act on their feelings, more accidental shootings from people who were "scared" or "trying to do the right thing".
We don't need gun control, we need all forms of harassment to end at companies or sanctioned by the government to silence dissent. Especially when the feeble minded get involved, they are ruthless and lack any form of empathy at all. We need to do a deep dive into the shooter life to find out what happened.

As usual, there is always a history with these mofos that people just ignore. Which tells you there are hundreds possibly thousands more out there that people know about but just ignore thinking they are harmless.

My major issue is I believe there's those in the background, if not actual people, but computers that monitor all we do. There are many things that would trigger an agency to have a red flag on people and nothing is done.
