But then it's Texas, maybe they'll come to their sense and revisit their gun laws if any of those kids have parents in TX state congress.

This is another Sandy Hook.
From the initial story I thought he was being chased.
But, he is a 18 yo incel.
Who shot his grandmother.
Then drove/crash his car into a school
Then proceeded then kills as many kids as he could
Before being killed himself.

All the schools my daughter went to, you can’t get into unless your buzzed in. And these are public schools.
What's a realistic solution? Armed security at every school which will cut company profits?

Can't have cops at schools full time, too expensive. Security Guards and their rusty guns won't cut it, too little ammo and no real incentive to give a fuck, they'll take off once it goes down.

Prevention also can mean reducing opportunities for shooters. As it currently stands, all institutions have to come up with their own measures with little influence from government.
So ease of access to gun and bullets will always be a thing here. Always.

The sad part is there is nothing that will be done. In an election year, and the Democrats don't have any juice in the Senate to pass any meaningful legistation and likely to get washed out in November. Sleepy Joe gon lose the House and the Senate and end up being lame duck. They do not have 60 votes in the Senate to remove the filibuster or to do anything. It’s pathetic.
This is why voting matters.

I move from a less than optimal school district to the one she is in now right before she started elementary.
Gave me some comfort to know they’ll school she was going to lockdown at 8am everyday.
