i have nothing against the teams just the fans. especially yankee and knick fans.

Oh aight gotcha. I guess that's my same problem. I mean I hate the Giants but aside from them I just don't like the sense of entitlement NY niggas have.

Jesus.....EFG doesn't penalize you for shooting 3's. Lebron shoots 34% from 3 point land and its not hurting his EFG. Dwaynen Wade and Kobe Bryant actually shoot WORSE from 3 than Melo does but they still have a EFG over 50%. Are you even reading the stats i'm posting? You acting stubborn now. Whatever. I'm done. If you don't know what EFG% is than its a lost cause anyway. Melo is a great shooter. Stick to believing that.

And no 45% from the field for a superstar is not good. Especially one with Melo's skillset.

Call me crazy but...

As far as Knick fans are concerned... Melo's EFG% won't really matter much once they start seeing clutch 'buzzer-beater' highlights and w's appear in the win column.

Plus, Knick fans can finally start saying the word "playoffs" in a sentence again... and NOT get laughed at.

So at the end of the day...

I doubt any EFG% stats will even be mentioned in any conversations in all the local barbershops across NYC.

After more than a DECADE... New York City Basketball fans finally have the primary pieces of a Knick team they can be proud of again.

Shit if Melo wasn't getting traded you niggas wasn't getting your hands on him with that new CBA. Knicks had to pull the trigger on this shit. I more so can't stand the fans than the actual NY teams. Its hard to hate on teams who ain't won shit since the 70's.

Personally, I think the Knicks may regret the move for Melo. Just like the Heat I just don't believe in deflating a team and just having 2 superstars and that's it. So far its working for the Heat. Maybe it will work for the Knicks. I guess time will tell. One thing is for sure and that's Melo and Amare is a nice foundation. I think they should try to compliment them with solid role players rather than go after the next big name like Chris Paul and Deron Williams but you NY fans are in love with the BIG NAME for whatever reason.

to keep it 100, melo is a lazy bitch that has yet to reach his potential :dunno: I've never said dude was going to be the NY basketball savior, I was more excited when we got stat.

what does that have to do with my posts in this thread?

It's because aside from NY and a few select cities in this country, everywhere else is a shithole that doesn't even come close to New York. And most them niccas are from those shitholes, and they salty.

I sarcastically referred to Melo as "non shooting ass". Someone called me out on it and I brought up a stat that people use to show how good of a shooter a player is. That's why I bring up EFG. Not to belittle the move the Nuggets made. Simply to bring up the type of shooter Melo is.

I don't consider Melo a good shooter however he's a hell of a scorer and with Amare on the court he'll have some attention off of him with another legit superstar on the court with him. I'm on the fence about how good the move is. I just see all the talent they gave up and it sort of makes me feel negative about the move but it is a superstar league. Knicks got a nice foundation. Not sure how far that will get them in the post season but if they build on Amare and Melo they're a legit threat again.

the heat need somebody running point and that will be their achilles heel until they get one. the knicks need a piece or 2, cp3 or deron would be good money but they can't afford to sit on their hands waiting for that :smh: let's be real, they're still not "better" than the hawks, heat, celts, bulls and magic ... imo :dunno:

Denver is about to drop completely out the playoff race now.

Shit I don't know. Nene, Kenyon, Felton, Gallanari, Affalo, Al Harrington, Chandler, Lawson and JR Smith is a nice core. I don't think they're gonna collapse. They'll win some games. They're throwing out a better roster than the Suns and Grizzlies and that's their competition.

It's because aside from NY and a few select cities in this country, everywhere else is a shithole that doesn't even come close to New York. And most them niccas are from those shitholes, and they salty.

NY has their own share of shitholes as well.

Collison and Thornton....:smh: and we wouldn't have this problem and the sad part about it, Marcus gets the loudest pop when enters the game.

Collison 19 points 9 Assists when starting
Thornton 19 points when Starting....

The Knicks won this season. They set out to get two of the top players available, and while they didn't get Lebron James and Dwyane Wade, they certainly got the next best two players that were available and made themselves available in Amare Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony.

They did something that is difficult to accomplish, which is get multiple superstars together. It's not easy to do. It is much easier to fill out the roster with quality role players than to add another superstar to a team with one star and decent role players.

Let's keep perspective here. The Knicks players sent out were: Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, and Timofey Mozgov.

Starting with Mozgov, what the knicks gave up was size. That was it. He's a project and will likely not amount to much. The Knicks saying no Mozgov wasn't about the player so much as it was about the fact that the Nuggets kept asking for more and more.

Gallinari nor Wilson Chandler would ever be the player that Carmelo Anthony is.

Chandler is a decent, if not good defender, but that is it. He's a good scorer, but like I've said for a while, he's a third option playing second option the entire season. He's a guy who's great alongside Melo and Amare, not a guy you say no to Melo for.

Gallinari played well last season, but with actual stakes on the line (playoffs) he's been inconsistent. Gallinari is averaging almost 16 points on 41% shooting. Last season, 15points on 42% shooting. He's just not there. And he isn't a defender at all.

So considering those two I'm not sure how the Knicks aren't much better with Carmelo. Melo is scoring 25 points on 45% shooting, and is scoring nearly 32 points on 53% shooting in his past 10 games. Wilson Chandler nor Danilo Gallinari will never be able to duplicate production like that.

As for Felton. Sucks that he's been traded. I'd say that's the biggest piece that's been traded, but let's keep some perspective here. Felton was always considered a temporary player. His contract expires in 2012. The reason? He'll be trade bait or allowed to expire in an attempt to sign Chris Paul (or Deron Williams).

So don't get all upset over a player who had 1.5 seasons left in NY anyway.

Chauncey Billups is temporary also. The Knicks hold a team option for Billups, which they can pick up and trade his contract for one of the aforementioned.

The Knicks got much better overall as they put themselves in a position to take over the atlantic over the next few seasons. They also put themselves in a position to be a top four seed next season.

Damn, I respect professionalism and believe in it but I don't know about leaving NYC to go play in Denver fucking Colorado....I'd be kicking rocks right now if I was Chandler and Danillo.

Damn.......Not a knick fan and I feel bad for them, on flip side I will be watching Knick games now.

:cmonson:

Denver is a nice city bruh. We ain't talking about Cleveland here.

You talk like Denver is mudhole mississippi. That's a nice town. They may actually like it. NYC smells like shit anyway.

I hear a lot of cacs say Aspen is beautiful...not sure how close that is to Denver

Aspen is way the fuck away from Denver but Denver is nice. Not the hussle and bussle of the city but it ain't a "one-horse" town though.

No I'm speaking more on being able to step out hotel room and find whatever you want in 10 block radius pretty much. They better get the fedex deals together down in Denver, no disrespect.

Oh got ya.

3. Kevin Durant (Best "Young" Scorer)
4. Dwayne Wade / Carmelo Anthony (Tied for "Most Fun to Watch")
6. Dwight Howard (Best Big Man. Top Defender.)
7. Steve Nash / Chris Paul (Tied for Best "Pure" Point Guards)
8. Derrick Rose / Deron Williams (Tied for Best "Scoring" Point Guards)
9. Ray Allen (Best 3pt Shooter. Ever.)
10. Dirk Nowitski (Best "Perimeter" Big Man.)

Yea the only reason i'll say they MAY miss the playoffs is because the West is deep and i'm not sure how the new guys will gel with the other guys in Denver.

I like their roster. Suns and the Grizz can't fuck with it. No where near Cleveland. Cleveland wish they did get someone of the caliber of the niggas the Knicks gave up. Knicks gave up their starting lineup except Amare. Nuggets came out pretty well. Personnel wise? The Nuggets got deeper.

Yea I wonder when will it end or how far it will go? I wonder who's next? I think you can cross Durant off that list. That dude is EXTRA loyal to Oklahoma. Dwight might be the next one in line but I think he likes Orlando as well.

You have Steve Nash and Ray Allen as top 10 players? Man. Now i KNOW you're full of it.

Kobe - still going strong after 14 seasons played.
Lebron - still proving he's a top 3 MVP candidate.
Wade - still a dominant offensive player.
Durant - best all around scorer in the nba
Rose - best scoring point, still a playmaker.
Williams - best combination of playmaking and scoring as a point
Howard - is Orlando's anchor, and has shown improvement on O top 3 MVP candidate.
Anthony - second best all around scorer, or first depending on opinion.
Paul - best pure point guard in the nba.
Stoudemire - has turned around the Knicks franchise, proven himself to be a leader. The current best offensive big in the NBA.

That's my top 10, in no order.

Denver won't be Cleveland.

To start, they made a trade. Imagine what Cleveland could have gotten if they put Lebron on the block. They could have had any player in the NBA not named Durant or Kobe.

But they have a decent team.

I agree with most of this except I think Dirk is a better player than Carmelo and Amare. Dirk makes my top 10 and Melo and Amare fight for my #10 spot. Both have weaknesses in their game. Especially Amare on the defensive end.
