knicks will get paul by default for 2 reasons, their gm is the knicks former assistant gm and paul made the toast about coming to ny... the hornets know the deal... in the offseason it'll be billups, balkman and corey brewer for paul
2nd reason, the nba owns the hornets and stern by his own admission grew up a knicks fan and has said over the years he wants the knicks to be back to winning basketball...it helps the ratings and the money...i'd prefer deron williams but utah won't help the knicks after what happened with layden...williams is going to houston or dallas...
knicks have a lot of expiring deals next offseason... and we still have a 1st round pick, mike d plays a tight rotation...we'll see a few d-league/rookie free agents as depth and have our 8 man rotation already set...
