In the NBA season awards thread I said that Hibbert should've been DPOY. The fact that he didn't get selected as DPOY or to the all defensive team was a travesty.

He'll get there next year even if he doesn't deserve because that's just how inept the coaches (and to a lesser extent the media) are when it comes to voting.

It is so hard to imagine Cartwright ever beasting. I know what injuries can do to a player, tho'. In fairness to Cartwright, by the time I saw him, he was on the tail end of his career.

but he was no punk... and had a major mean streak.

I think they can win this year and maybe this year because the Pacers can't afford to keep their team together.

If anything the team to worry about will be the Bulls. Nate Robinson is gone but If Rose comes back healthy and the same I can see them challenging the Heat. Butler is a second round pick his contract is dirt cheap. In fact the Bulls should look into moving Deng while he has value.

Jimmy is the 30th pick but I get what you're saying. I am actually glad we got Jimmy at 30 cause if we got him at 31, he'd be a free agent like Asik last year. New we have two more years before we have to play him.

I', down to move Deng but you have to get a post scorer or a three point shooting SG/SF. Unforunately there isnt anyone out there that can bring back the value that Deng brings to the team.

Listening to D Aldridge talk about coaching vacancies, can somebody PLEASE explain to me what the League has against Patrick Ewing!?!?!? Dude's been an assistant coach for a minute and his name doesn't even get mentioned...

Most assistant coaches are pegged as offensive specialists, defensive specialist or player development specialists. The specialists compiles the strategy with the HC and rips the tape needed to support the strategy.

Player development coaches are not very involved in this process but they are gradually trusted to take on more of a role on either side of the ball.

I have to assume that Patrick didnt show the capacity to appropriately assist in the game planning. If you noticed, Ewing would always be charting shit after all those years developing Yao and D12.

On other teams, you saw cats like Tom Thibodeaux and Monty Williams drawing up shit for the team during time outs. If this is the case then Pat needs to give up coaching and move into scouting as that is the natural progression for player development coach. He should stay on that path and he could become a GM.

On a side note, that Gold Club shit didn't help his cause.

So during the first practice MJ is talking shit and tries to dunk on Cartwright. Carwright flagrants fouls MJ and stands over him and says, "YOung fella, you ever do that again and I will break both of your legs."

He was instantly made captain.
