How much were the tickets. They actually got in big trouble for charging so much for tickets in America.

Funny enough this was Michael Jackson's first controversy and he apparently wasnt even the one that insisted on the high prices(don king and what seems to be Jermaine did)

mj approve it. he double back when the fans was like it's too expensive

Yea no doubt. He had great PR back then....and I guess even now if people still think hes innocent despite all the evidence.

Why werent any other 30+ year old stars of that era hanging out with 10 year old boys then? Surely folks like AC/DC and Madonna had fans of the same age range. Why didnt they?

I thought it was cool, didn't really learn anything new besides he never toured off Thriller.

Joe Jackson :smh:

It's crazy how much Thriller cost too. I did it with inflation calculator and it would be a $3 plus million dollar video right now.

I was 12 at the time and my older cousin had bought our tickets...no clue as to what they cost.:dunno:
$30 a piece and you had to buy 4 tickets. My family couldn’t afford it. When he did the Bad Tour, it was $22 and my grandmother made sure I got a ticket!

I saw the Victory Tour in Dallas.

It was the only show where Eddie Van Halen performed Beat It on tour with Michael. What hardly anyone knew was that Prince was there too.

Thank God I was alive to witness “Michaelmania” back in 1983-84! Folks can talk about Taylor and Beyonce all day long but they never had the cultural impact that Thriller had. First things first: Thriller sold 40 million albums in 1984. Not to mention, at one point it was selling a million copies per week. This was more than just an album; this was a phenomenon that we will never witness again.

I was two years old when Thriller came out,so I don't know how it was but even when Bad and Dangerous were out none of the artists today compare;how big those two albums were back in the day.

I've seen interviews of people talk about the Thriller phenomenal I can't even comprehend how big it was at the time.

It was HUGE! Thriller was a cultural phenomenon at the time. Everyone had a copy of Thriller and I can truly say that Michael Jackson had people from the youngest to the oldest jamming this album. Like Jerry Rice’s football records, there will never be an artist to break MJ’s accomplishments. Beyonce’? Taylor Swift? Please. Not EVEN close!

Macaulay Culkin did an interview one time where he talked about this. In his interview he said Michael did a bad job of explaining it. He went on to say that this is Michael Jackson so his bed and his bedroom is not the normal size and that his bedroom was like 2 floors.

That was by the time Culkin started hanging around him. His bedroom he used to be locked in with boys at Hayvenhurst wasnt that big, and only had 1 king sized bed.

Mike himself said there was nothing wrong with sharing his bed with boys:

His sister said he was writing checks to boys parents long before the allegations of payoffs became public:

To be fair Latoya's husband was beating the shit out of her and was forcing her to do that (and pose for Playboy) in order to extort Michael and the Jacksons.

I believe he was forcing her to work, I dont believe he was forcing her to go on interviews and talk about why her brother in his mid 30's was sleeping in bed with boys and paying them off.

I think ANY person would question their sibling doing that.

^^^This was even before the payoff information came out. I believe her.
