Ariana Grande’s Glinda is the queen of Shiz from the moment her dainty pink shoes touch down on the university’s non-yellow bricks in Wicked: Part I. And her reign is supported by her (mostly) devoted minions, played by Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James.

But how did Glinda become besties with Yang’s Pfannee and James’ ShenShen? EW has an exclusive look at a deleted scene from the box-office smash (available Dec. 31 to rent or buy on digital) that shows the trio uniting — or is that reuniting? — at Shiz.

The clip opens with Galinda Upland, as she’s then known, delighting in her arrival at the institution where she hopes to study magic under the tutelage of the imperious Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh).

Her solitude is broken when two fellow students rush up, crooning her name in unison. At first, Glinda looks at them blankly, even after they introduce themselves, and excitedly ask if she remembers them.

It’s not until Pfannee mentions their time together at Miss Cringable’s Twirling Academy that the lightbulb goes off for the pink-clad beauty.

“Of course!” Glinda exclaims. Then the trio launches into a twirling routine involving wrist twists, full-body spins, and a joyful chorus of, “Sunrise, bright eyes!”

Afterward, Glinda squeals and pulls Pfannee and ShenShen into a hug before pulling back and asking pertly, “How are you? Truthfully.”

Her question prompts Pfannee to respond with the level of honesty that she requested.

“I’ve been… through,” he says with a sigh. “I’ve been through.”

Glinda, her niceness on full display, immediately responds with, “Oh! I’m sorry.”

And with that, a beautiful friendship is born... until Glinda's shifting loyalties to Elphaba Thropp upend their dynamic.

Original Wicked witches join movie stars in what Kristin Chenoweth calls a 'once-in-a-lifetime situation' (exclusive)

This clip, along with nine other deleted or extended scenes, is included in the streaming version that will be available to rent or buy on Tuesday at Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home, Comcast Xfinity, Cox, and Microsoft Movies & TV.

Other available features include the bonus Sing-Along version, which displays the song lyrics onscreen karaoke-style, as well as behind-the-scenes looks at the making of the film; features on the costumes, cameos, and production design; commentary with director Jon M. Chu and stars Grande and Cynthia Erivo; and discussions with the cast and crew about their memories of the original Broadway production.

Since I couldn't see the film in IMAX due to SOLD OUT showings (or what was left of available seats being way too close), I finally got to see it on Digital last night.

FUCKIN' WOW!!!
GOOFILY AMAZING!!!

I've been a "WIZARD OF OZ" fan for decades. WICKED premiered on Broadway when I moved back to NYC in '03. I had no interest in seeing it. But whenever I was in the area, would always see the lines. As a former 80s Ad Marketing/Graphics guy, I've always loved that poster. But that was it.

But this film is FUCKIN' INCREDIBLE on all levels. It's like a tribute to not only the original film, but all those 30s Hollywood Musicals when it was all that B&W Busby Berkeley shit, I watched as a kid on local TV late at night. Jon M. Chu got that shit right. And I still love his "IN THE HEIGHTS".

I'm glad I watched it at home. Because My ASS was practically crying at the end of "DEFYING GRAVITY".
I'm hoping for an IMAX rerelease before the "Part 2" in November.

So, I not only downloaded all the Gregory Maguire books.
But also, the original L. Frank Baum ones too.
And I plan on getting the 4K when it drops.

Easily Top Ten 2024 Film for Me.
I'm still in shock how much My Black Cynical ASS loved this film.

I understand why for security reasons.

They should have dedicated screenings just for people to CosPlay.

Similar to “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” screenings around the country.

^^^^

My thing is people acting CONFUSED as to why they are enforcing this rule so strongly

When we know damn we'll society is sh*t

And we have had shooting stabbing and various types of assaults in theatees with people wearing different types of face coverings.

And I think on 2024? If I'm a theatre?

I will STILL have some type of waiver signed if you attend those screenings or extra security

Especially now we in. Maga country

MMMAAAANNNN...
Y'all had to be here in NYC during the late 70s when they had those "RHPS" daily midnight showings at the (old) 8th St. Playhouse in Greenwich Village. Shit was WILD to say the least.

Was going to make this into a seperate thread and them immediately thought better of it.

I don't think she is right for the role either. But I knew where it was headed early.

I really wish the sister had not said anything.
since Regina King is too old now...

yeah you right

because its not like they hired Chadwick Boseman Anthony Mackie Letitia Wright Michael B. Jordan Danai Gurira Lupita Nyong'o Brian Tyree Henry Winston Duke Daniel Kaluuya Angela Bassett Giancarlo Esposito Forest Whitaker Sterling K. Brown Carl Lumbly Florence Kasumba and Dominique Thorne and Teyonah Parris and Lashana Lynch.

They just keep casting the wrong people for these Black roles I just don't know when they will EVER get it right.

you keep ignoring the fact that We gonna be alright

I'm telling you Gunn and Feige got this.

We gonna see a Marvel v DC crossover soon come.

I don't know how all that woke non woke stuff works because I don't respect these fans since they are the ones who decide what is and what isn't "woke"

Lets see the result then you can whip out the blowtorch.

But I need to see what they actually DO.

Letts stay positive for the two five Vish
