All this talk about Hailee and which mixed actress they shoulda picked... "They" ??? Nah sun..

1. Coogler did that shit, not "they" and he got genius vision. Never question genius vision.

2. Them other actresses are biracial but they are clearly BLACK which doesn't fit this story. She was supposed to clearly perceived as white unless you know the story.

3. White is white, I don't care if they Jewish or Irish. Still talcum powder. It don't fucking matter cuz they not like us and y'all starting to sound like them.

4. Since y'all still so passionate go see that shit again twice more... and bring a friend. We need to cross this $100M line for culture. Like Pedro Pascal said - shut the fuck up and go see the movie.

I always complain that Hollywood always rehashes the same shit; and that as Black folks we need to write, direct, and put our own spin on things. Well, Coogler did just that and I take no issues with it.

I really liked Delroy Lindo and Wunmi Mosaku (she usually over acts to me, but she didn't this time). Bravo to Michael B. Jordan too.

I did as well.

When they said that the Indians were Choctaw, I was like, "Oh shit... they're about to expose the 'Paper Genocide'." But they didn't. I was looking forward to it too. Almost everyone thinks that Choctaw (Chatah) were from Oklahoma... we're from The Mississippi Valley.

That's my only disappointment with an otherwise great and entertaining movie with some great story telling.

Yeah, I do think she's a plant like you said. The chick knows the game so I can picture her getting headlines by saying "Coogler says Sinners is a Marxist movie" or "Coogler is promoting communism." & I'm not saying anything is wrong with Marxism or Communism but as you said, for White folks in America, these words are like calling The Devil Himself. I hope that interview doesn't go viral, that energy is not what Sinners needs right now. Coogler should do a David Lynch and not explain his movies deeply as a rule, allow the movie-going audience to come to their interpretations.

Back in the day: not only Preachers but Dentists, Doctors, Barbers, Hairdressers, and Insurance/Banking people were the people who were making the vast majority of money in the Black community... sometimes Cooks/Restaurateurs.

There are plenty examples to back this up.
