This popped up in my Netflix recommendations a month ago and the small preview and information looked interesting.

I started watching it last night in my truck while on the road

I’m gonna keep it quick, about the 40 minute mark I started staring off into space and at the 45 minute mark I turned it off. It’s a 2 hour film.

There was one lame action sequence during that time along with the premise of the film being explained during that time.

Watch if you run out of shit to watch.

The film is from Poland, Netflix has it dubbed in English.

Synopsis

A military contractor hired to seize a weapon that turns people into savage killers seeks revenge when his brother falls victim to the device.

This isn't for everyone.

It was sort of like Oppenheimer to me, good but a bit of a let down.

The shit is too damn long. It could have been 30 minutes to an hour shorter IMO. Even at the end, it really didn't tell the complete story, because it gives a synopsis.

The story is engaging and the acting is great, but it's something missing. Maybe the point of view it's told from. Also for it to be so long I felt some of the characters were underdeveloped. I'm sure it will get plenty of nominations, but it's not a top 10 movie for me.

It's cool this story is being told.

Good music documentary.

My mom recommended it years ago, and she rewatched it with me at that time.

I saved it for my pops and watched it with him earlier this week. He enjoyed seeing the assortment of talent that had recorded in that small town.

Checked out Old Dads earlier tonight. It was pretty good.

If you're a fan of Burr, Woodbine, and/or Cannavale, you'll enjoy it.

Had funny moments mixed in with more heartfelt.

Recognized a handful of comedic actors and stand-ups in small, supporting roles. They could have been used more given their comedic chops.

Funniest moments = there's a fight scene later in the movie, and also the car scene with a really good cameo appearance, haha.

Bill Burr's wife Nia also has a small appearance in the movie ... which is fitting in that they started their family later in life, and he's an "Old Dad" himself.

Slotherhouse.

Easily the worse movie I've seen in the last few years. It's about a female sorority member who adopts a sloth in hopes it will aid in her bid for sorority president. The sloth is murderous though.

The sloth uses cell phones--to post selfies of itself with its vivictims, and computers. It drives a car. And it knows how to electrocute people. In all fairness, the movie is a comedy and doesn't take itself seriously at all. But it's so silly and unrealistic the comedy fails.

I'd grade it a D+.

This one came up in my Netflix recommendations recently. It’s a new release. The preview and information looked interesting. I watched it last night while on the road in my truck.

I didn’t go into it expecting much. The film actually played out better than I expected.

The film starts right off in SHTF mode with the main character being introduced along with her husband. The film does not waste time with character introduction/development and story development like a majority of films. Character development is done thruout the film with the main character. Main story premise is given in pieces as the film plays out within the first 10 minutes to give you what you need to know, to understand what is going on.

The level of violence was surprising, not graphic but it made the point clear on how desperate folks are in this society and what they have to do to survive.

After the first 15 minutes the film continues on with the main character doing what she has to do to survive. The film holds up its pace from start to the final scene.

And Yes, you will have to watch the film as it is, don’t go into it watching it like “Neil Degrasse Tyson” and going that is impossible, unbelievable and makes no sense on what is going on. It’s not a documentary.

For the Pervs, there is full frontal nudity of a pregnant woman (giving birth). There is also some lactation with milk squirting.

For the Foot Fiends, good shots of the main characters feet thru out the film.

For the InCells, the main character is a female, she does a number of things that will offend and disturb you.

The film is from Spain and Netflix has it dubbed in English.

Synopsis

Fleeing a totalitarian country, pregnant Mia must fight for her life when a violent storm knocks the container in which she has been hiding overboard. Trapped, Mia gives birth and is forced to survive to save her baby.

I watched that film “Watership Down” in the 1980s with my brother back in the mid-80s.

My step-father had figured out how to steal HBO back then and we watched it. I went into thinking it was a children’s kiddie cartoon.

Way from it. It’s violent and depressing. My little brother lost interest in it about 15 minutes in, I continued watching it to the end.

Watership Down
1978

When a young rabbit named Fiver (Richard Briers) has a prophetic vision that the end of his warren is near, he persuades seven other rabbits to leave with him in search of a new home.

Several obstacles impede their progress, including predators, a rat-filled cemetery and a speeding river. Upon arriving at their final destination, a hill dubbed Watership Down, the rabbits find that their journey is still far from over.

Realistically drawn, this British animated film carries an emotional weight.

This recently came up in my Netflix recommendations and I checked it out last night in my truck.

The preview clip looked interesting.

The film fell flat. It tried to be a “Fast & Furious” with trucks, but the film spent majority of time dealing with the main character and his problems.

The plot has been done a million times in a number of well known B-movies.

Like Fast/Furious, the action with the trucks is unbelievable, especially if you are familiar with how semi’s operate like me.

One of the big disappointments is there is a female supporting character that I assumed was to be like Fast/Furious Michelle Rodriquez, but she was barely in the film. Also the cinematographer needs to get slapped for not focusing the camera on her in the scenes she was in. She is a cutie.

The bad guys are comical. This is the first film I have seen bad guys that are polite, courteous and willing to be helpful.

Overall, the film is Mindless Entertainment, watch if you need to watch something to kill time.

The film is from Brazil, Netflix has it dubbed in English.

Synopsis

When truck racer Roger loses everything, he receives a tempting but dangerous offer: to work as the getaway driver for a gang of thieves.
