Megan Thee Stallion Posts Photo of Her Gunshot Wound, Makes New Statement

At the same time she announced on Twitter that she and Cardi B are giving away $1 million to random contest winners, Megan Thee Stallion posted on Instagram a photo of the gunshot wound she suffered last month while out with rapper Tory Lanez.

“Lol what I have learned abt majority of the people on social media is y’all like to hear bad news before good news, a lie spreads quicker than the truth, and y’all really be believing the sh– YALL make up,” she wrote. “I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot I was WALKING AWAY FACING THE BACK. why would I lie abt getting shot? Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad? Why y’all upset that I can walk ? I got my stitches out my feet like 2 weeks ago and I was ready to go celebrate WAP going number1… I usually don’t address internet bullshit but y’all people are so sick! God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well! Sorry I’m not as sad and miserable as a lot of y’all lol but ima keep being Megan Thee Mf STALLION.”
While details of the alleged shooting are unclear, it took place in Los Angeles in the early hours of July 12, after Megan, Lanez and an unidentified had attended at least two separate parties, one at the home of Kylie Jenner. After a report of gunfire outside the second party, Lanez, Megan and the woman were pulled over by police after a report of gunfire outside the second party; Lanez, whom Megan was said to be dating, was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.
While initial reports said Megan injured her foot on broken glass in the car, she has since claimed in social media posts and a July 27 Instagram Live session that she was “shot in both of my feet and had to get surgery to get the bullets taken out,” although she did not inform police and has yet to reveal the identity of the shooter. (One common rumor is that Lanez lost his temper after the two had an argument, but she has dismissed all such speculation as “fake-ass news.”) Surveillance video footage of the arrest shows Megan limping from the SUV, leaving bloody footprints; Los Angeles police confirmed they have opened an investigation based on Megan’s account, but witnesses are said to be not cooperating.
In a cover interview with Variety nine days after the shooting, Megan declined to discuss details but did say, “I’m not the type of person who can stay down for a long time,” she says. “I don’t like to be sad or keep myself in a dark place, because I know it could be the worst thing happening, but the pain and the bad things don’t last for long.” That sentiment is reflected in Wednesday’s comment, “Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad?”
Indeed, Megan’s career has not been slowed by the incident — she and Cardi released the smash single “WAP” earlier this month, and Megan told Variety she hopes to release her debut full-length album by the end of this summer.

Megan Thee Stallion Shuts Down Rumors With Gunshot-Wound Photo

Megan Thee Stallion went out of her way to prove some goofs on Twitter wrong today. The “WAP” rapper posted (and, later, deleted) a photo of her stitched-up foot on Instagram with a caption addressing those who said she was lying. “Lol what I have learned abt majority of the people on social media is y’all like to hear bad news before good news, a lie spreads quicker than the truth, and y’all really be believing the shit YALL make up … I got hit at the back of my feet because when I got shot I was WALKING AWAY FACING THE BACK,” she wrote. “Why would I lie abt getting shot?” From the moment she came forward with the news that she was shot on July 12 in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old has been met with skepticism, jokes, and just downright indecency online. After images of her and her feet at the club on August 17 spread on Twitter, she was met with criticism about going out so soon after the shooting and during a pandemic. Trolls took it too far and tried to claim that she lied about the whole thing.

“Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad?” she continued in her post. “Why y’all upset that I can walk? I got my stitches out my feet like 2 weeks ago and I was ready to go celebrate WAP going number1 … I usually don’t address internet bullshit but y’all people are so sick! God was really watching over me and I’m healing so well!” Not to be all, “If a male rapper did it,” but this conversation would likely have a different tone if a man walked away from a shooting and immediately went No. 1. Well, here ya go, weirdos. “Sorry I’m not as sad and miserable as a lot of y’all lol,” she finished. “But ima keep being Megan Thee Mf STALLION.”

Megan Thee Stallion Responds to Tory Lanez’s Denial That He Shot Her

Details of the still-unexplained incident on July 12 in which rapper Tory Lanez allegedly shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot have unspooled gradually over the past few weeks. While initial reports of the incident — in which Lanez was arrested for possessing a concealed weapon and released on $35,000 bail — said that Megan had cut her foot on broken glass, although she later claimed in a series of social media posts that she had been shot, and eventually identified Lanez as the shooter.
On Thursday night, Lanez, who had been quiet about the incident since it took place, refuted her allegations with a 17-track album filled with defensive and self-pitying lyrics, many of which address the incident. “How the f— you get shot in your foot, don’t hit no bones or tendons?,” he raps in one of many lyrics about the incident.

Megan Thee Stallion Posts Photo of Her Gunshot Wound, Makes New Statement

Megan, who has taken her time with her responses regarding the incident, apparently responded on Sunday afternoon with a short but unsubtle Instagram post: A photo of herself wearing rings that spell out the words “F— you,” with the caption “Mood.”

While there’s no explicit connection, Lanez’s album, and his vocal supporters, are certainly the most obvious things that she might be referring to.
The backstory of the incident has unspooled gradually over the past few weeks. In the early hours of July 12, Lanez was arrested in Hollywood for possessing a concealed weapon; Megan (real name: Megan Pete) and two other people were in the vehicle with him at the time of the arrest, although the shooting took place beforehand.
Lanez, 28, a Canadian citizen whose real name is Daystar Peterson, has kept a low profile since his arrest.
While the incident was reported in the press just hours after it took place, details have been slow to unfold. Most of them have been provided by Megan herself, culminating in her accusing Lanez of being the gunman after weeks of increasingly damning hints.
“Yes, this n—a Tory shot me,” she said in a fiery video posted to Instagram on Aug. 20. “You shot me, and you got your publicist and your people to [talk to] these blogs, lying and s––. Stop lying!” Various individuals claimed on social media that Megan had physically abused Lanez or faked the shooting.
Megan, Lanez, his bodyguard, and an unidentified woman who is speculated to be Megan’s close friend Kelsey Nicole had attended a party at Kylie Jenner’s Hollywood home earlier in the evening. The four were pulled over by police after a report of gunfire outside a second residence; a witness described the car they were traveling in. While initial reports said Megan had cut her feet on broken glass inside the car, she later claimed to be the “victim of a shooting,” but without identifying the gunman, who was widely suspected to be Lanez.
Megan, 25, then posted photos of her injured foot on Instagram but deleted them a few hours later. More posts discussing the incident ensued; then on Aug. 20 she tweeted, “Lie one more time and ima quit sparing you” — her claim that Lanez was the shooter followed shortly afterward.
Surveillance footage of the arrest shows Lanez, the unidentified woman, and later Megan lying spread-eagled on the ground near the vehicle, surrounded by multiple police cars with a helicopter hovering overhead.

Lanez was released a few hours after his arrest on a $35,000 bond, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department. He is due in court on Oct. 13.
A representative for the LAPD told Variety that there has been no update in the investigation into the incident, which began in July based on Megan’s initial claims in her Instagram post. “On July 24, our office asked law enforcement for further investigation before making a filing decision on a charge of felony assault with a semiautomatic firearm – personal use of a firearm,” against [Lanez],” reads a statement from the district attorney’s office.
In a cover interview with Variety nine days after the shooting, Megan declined to discuss details but did say:, “I’m not the type of person who can stay down for a long time. I don’t like to be sad or keep myself in a dark place, because I know it could be the worst thing happening, but the pain and the bad things don’t last for long.” That sentiment is reflected in Wednesday’s comment, “Why are y’all so upset that I don’t wanna be in the bed sad?”
The incident has done nothing to slow her fast-rising career. She and Cardi B released the smash single “WAP” in August, and she is the musical guest on the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” on Oct. 3.

JUDGE ORDERS TORY LANEZ TO STAY AWAY FROM MEGAN THEE STALLION, GIVE UP ANY GUNS HE OWNS: REPORT
Aleia Woods
Published: October 13, 2020
Tory Lanez has appeared in court for two felony charges following his July 12 arrest for carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, which occurred the same day as the shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion.
In a report from TMZ on Tuesday (Oct. 13), Tory was not present in Los Angeles County Superior Court physically for his arraignment on his assault with a semiautomatic firearm—personal use of a firearm—and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle charges, but he made an appearance by phone.

His attorney, Shawn Holly, requested a continuance—or a postponement—in the case so the rapper-crooner did not enter a plea. However, a rep from the Los Angeles County Superior Court confirmed to XXL this afternoon that a protective order was put in place against Tory, born Daystar Peterson, requiring that he stay away from Megan Thee Stallion.
In addition to the protective order, which is reportedly for Tory to stay at least 100 yards away from the "Wap" artist, his bail was set at $190,000. He will apparently be posting the bail via a bondsman who was present at the hearing.
Lastly, Tory Lanez was reportedly ordered to surrender any guns he owns. His next court arraignment is schedule for Nov. 18, which is the same day Megan is set to launch her collaboration with the clothing brand Fashion Nova.
According to video footage obtained by The Shade Room, Tory Lanez verbally agreed over the phone to the orders given by the judge presiding over his case in court today. "You must not harass, strike, threaten, assault, follow, stalk, molest, destroy or damage personal real property, disturb the peace, keep under surveillance or block movements of the protected person," the judge said. "You must not own, possess, buy or try to buy, receive or try to receive, or otherwise obtain a firearm or ammunition."

The news of Tory's court hearing comes only hours after The New York Times published an opinion editorial piece written by Megan Thee Stallion on the importance of protecting Black women. In the article, Meg addressed violence against Black women, stereotypes they face as well as body image.
Prior to expounding on violence that is often inflicted upon Black women, Megan spoke on the shooting incident involving Tory Lanez. Although she did not name him outright, she described the incident itself and its aftermath.
"I was recently the victim of an act of violence by a man," she wrote. "After a party, I was shot twice as I walked away from him. We were not in a relationship. Truthfully, I was shocked that I ended up in that place."
Megan also opened up about choosing to remain silent following the shooting. "My initial silence about what happened was out of fear for myself and my friends," she explained. "Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment. The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted."
XXL has reached out to the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, the Los Angeles County Superior Court as well as Tory Lanez's attorney, a rep for Megan Thee Stallion and her attorney for a comment on this matter.
