The Lakers have reportedly made progress on a multi-team deal that would net them Anthony Davis.

The Lakers have reportedly emerged as the frontrunners in the AD sweepstakes, but teams like the Knicks and Celtics remain in the running. That said, it's worth noting that Davis' agent, Rich Paul, stated during a recent interview that no matter where AD winds up he'll be hitting free agency in 2020, and warned the Celtics that if he goes there he'll likely just be a one-year rental. It'll be interesting to see if a deal comes to fruition prior to the 2019 draft.

You’re right about one thing, if the Warriors were up 3-1 KD Definitely wouldn’t have been playing!

Klay wanted to play game 3 and the Warriors said no, so they do care about their players.

KD passed whatever test were needed to play, it was his decision to play along with their medical staff.

And no I don’t think he should’ve played. But if he didn’t play, the Warriors would’ve lost.

With seen KD walking slowly around in sandals for a month, saw him with his calf/Achilles wrapped up with ice all the time, including during Game 5, when they would show him on the court before he would just walk and take set shots, He couldn’t even fully participate in the 3 on 3 on Friday, they said he practiced about 10 minutes on Sunday and went back into the locker room, so no way the doctors LEGITIMATELY cleared him to play after all that and not playing for over a month WITH NO MINUTES RESTRICTION. They were basically saying he was 100% by having him not only start but play 12 out of the 14 minutes

Some of you are forgetting that KD is essentially a business represented by someone, Rich Kleiman, who gives zero fucks about the Warriors. There is no way he secretly had an achilles injury going into game 5 and his agent didn't know/allowed him to go out there. There is also no way the Warriors front office and coaching staff could have pressured KD into playing prematurely versus him just rushing to get back on his own. Keep in mind, Rich Kleiman, helped orchestrate his move to GS from OKC and supposedly is pushing him toward NYC. No way he lets KD put itself in a situation to potentially fuck up his big pay day. Look at what happened with Kawhi; His agent and uncle were the ones that stopped the Spurs from rushing him back and there wasn't shit the Spurs could do other than try to use the media to paint him as the bad guy. I guarantee that second/third doctors outside of the Warriors medical staff told him the same thing about no risk of further aggravating the injury by playing etc.

But he did, do you think him tearing his Achilles AFTER everybody has been saying he had an Achilles injury for over a month was just a coincidence.

I get it everybody looking for someone to blame.

Dudes acting like the Warriors are putting hit jobs on thier best players n shit.

Meanwhile these dudes don't even know of the 2 injuries are connected or not... Hell. They don't even know the severity of his injury.

Dude... No disrespect but that statement right there shows you are either gullible af or ignorant of how the human body works.

It wasnt a hit job. The Warriors were scared they were gonna lose, got desperate, reached for desperate measures and that was having KD come back earlier then he should have.

Yep. And now an all-time great player is going to miss an entire season during the heart of his prime. Everyone loses.

You can assume that if you like.

If KD was leaving any way why would he care?

Don't act like the talk before was that he COULD play and wasn't to shit on the team.

Bottom line is you don't know... You can assume

I’ve seen people say these 2 injuries MAY NOT BE CONNECTED in this thread and on TV, i’m like do they not know that the Achilles’ tendon is directly attached to the calf muscle??

Lol Rozier is Reggie Jackson 2.0

Ehh.....I don't think so but I think for the talent they have on that team......they need a Rozier type. They never need a Kyrie Irving at point with the type of talent they have around them. Their offense was watch Irving work and just stand there. Tatum and Brown are getting lost in that offense to the point they gotta put Brown on the bench
Brown and Rozier need to both start. Let Smart run the second unit.

Seems like a lot of these new players at some point have these season ending injuries at some point......but KD to this point had managed to dodge it. NBA can't be too happy about missing one of their best players for the season and one of their most marketable.

Yeah. There isn't even a possibility it isn't related to the 1st injury. Either his achilles was already strained or the calf injury was causing too much stress on the tendon.

I actually thought Durant was the only person with a real chance to catch Kareem. He has the shooting ability and frame to play a long ass time. That's over now with this type of injury in his prime.

Honestly fam I dont dont why you feel the need to play ignorant right now.

Who's honor are you trying to save exactly?

Im not shitting on the players I assume you feel love for.

They not the ones who put KD out there.

I dont have to assume shit that is blatantly obvious.

My whole thing was how easily is happened.

My logic tells me if the calf and achilles injuries are not connected as some claim, then Durant was just super unlucky to have two separate injuries on the same leg.

However, I don’t see that as the case. That second injury happen way too easily, which suggest to me that shit was already partially torn and never fully healed. I never believed it was a calf injury. Not for a second and not even after he Warriors organization claimed it was a calf injury.

Yeah he's a legit scorer too. He can lose athleticism and still put up points. Shit I don't know now. It was pushing it if he was relatively healthy from here on out.....now missing a year is gonna make it tough.

Not to mention, KD never grabbed his “Calf”. It was always the achilles. I don’t want to say that the Warriors were lying, but the Warriors were lying.

now going to happen now. He's going to lose a minimum about 2200 points. And this is when you have to stack them up because you don't full seasons in as you age... look at an iron man like Lebron...he plays a more physical style but eventually, you just get more injuries as you age.

He has a shot. I think we're just seeing the beginning of his body breaking down though. Lebron has a lot of miles on his body. If he can get 70 games in over the next two seasons and maintain his scoring average, he'll have a good shot at it. He's only 6,000 away.
