It's Kareem... then everybody else...

shaq wouldn't even be on my top 5
kareem, wilt, dream..if u allow duncan in dis convo i'd give him da 4th spot(even though i like the admiral better and russel with his 11 rings)
the next 2 could easily be the admiral, russel, somewhere moses is up there to
I dont see peoples Beef w/ Shaq. Dude in his prime was unstoppable in the post... He played in the post 100% like a real center, he could run the floor for someone 7'1 325+ and was a Great passer outside of a double team...
He totally dominated his era of Centers which early on was perhaps was 1 of the Deepest periods for Centers.

You gotta be joking! Shaquille played against a bunch of scrubs. The late 70's early 80's is
When the centers were at the best.

If Rodman was in the League w/ Wilt, He'd averaged More rebounds than Wilt.People love to say "Wilt was bigger than everybody thats why he got them 11 rebounding titles"
Well Shaq was bigger than everybody else, how many rebounding titles does he have?
How many times did he lead the league in blocks?
Shaq is one of the best OFFENSIVE centers of all time, but there are other centers who scored just as well if not more and did a lot of other things better.
i don't know that he dominated them early on. he got his yes but they got theirs too. all of them.
He Dominated Ewing and Robinson on a daily Basic even as a Young player and he always Dominated Mutombo and Zo...
Even if Prime D Rob and Prime Ewing was around when Prime Shaq was, They would have gotten Easily dominated just off the Fact that Shaq was dominating them in Their Primes when he was 20-22 years old.like i said he got his. but they got theirs too.
when he hit his prime then there was no competition it was his world.
I bet David Robinson still wake up at night sweating thinking about those dunks shaq use to get on him. Shaq punished him everytime they played against each othershaq wouldn't even be on my top 5

Prime shaq and Prime Hakeem would have been Great to Watch... I think Prime shaq would win that though.. being that young Shaq at 22 just barely got Out played by Hakeem in Hakeems prime in the 95 Finals.
Kareem, Shaq, Hakeem, Wilt.
Wilt and Shaq are just physical freaks who are rare. You just can't find cats that size and strength who can move like them. Lebron falls into this category. Three players in the history of the NBA -- two of whom are centers.
Kareem is Kareem and Hakeem is Hakeem.
Shaq had no post moves at all. All he did was push people around. He would have fouled out every time he played agInst someone with FUNDAMENTALS!
He had Footwork, had a Spin Move, Had a shimmy, had a hookshot AND he had the deadliest drop step in the game when he was Young.. Not only that, he was the big man passer out of a double team in his generation and for his weight and height, he could dribble better than most centers...Shaq had no post moves at all. Wilt so good you had to add him twice....
Wilt, Kareem, Shaq and Olajuwon
All sports 'Rushmores' should be broken down by position.
Russell, Wilt, Kareem, Olajuwon.
Uh, Where's Moses? Without him and his three MVPs the list is fraudulent. Please fix and re-submit![]()
Shit is crazy. Cats will choose Russell, but Mutombo(same player but with less help) has one fucking vote. So you going to war with Russell against Hakeem? No fucking way. None. Nada. Go watch the videos.
And Fuzzy_McNut's bitch ass voted for everyone, so Mutumbo really has zero votes-- as it should be.
I don't see a Mt. Rushmore as being only about straight up greatness but also as a representation of eras, ideally telling a story of greatness over time.
You can argue as to whether or not Chamberlain alone adequately represents greatness at the center position at that time and also how to balance the representation of particular eras...
