shaq wouldn't even be on my top 5

kareem, wilt, dream..if u allow duncan in dis convo i'd give him da 4th spot(even though i like the admiral better and russel with his 11 rings)

the next 2 could easily be the admiral, russel, somewhere moses is up there to

I dont see peoples Beef w/ Shaq. Dude in his prime was unstoppable in the post... He played in the post 100% like a real center, he could run the floor for someone 7'1 325+ and was a Great passer outside of a double team...

He totally dominated his era of Centers which early on was perhaps was 1 of the Deepest periods for Centers.

You gotta be joking! Shaquille played against a bunch of scrubs. The late 70's early 80's is

When the centers were at the best.

People love to say "Wilt was bigger than everybody thats why he got them 11 rebounding titles"

Well Shaq was bigger than everybody else, how many rebounding titles does he have?

How many times did he lead the league in blocks?

Shaq is one of the best OFFENSIVE centers of all time, but there are other centers who scored just as well if not more and did a lot of other things better.

neva was a fan of his game..i always peeped his bitch like mood swings and jealousy..i will give him his credit he was a dominant force with his size..but when it was all said and done neva cared for da dude..in fact when the lakers started to win those rings i became less of a fan of the nba cause afta watching a full season of bball seeing dis idiot hold up a trophy made me feel like i watch a whole movie with a wack ass ending..made it feel pointless to watch it..i couldn't even give da proper respect to kobe until that guy left cause lakers rings meant shaq won

i don't know that he dominated them early on. he got his yes but they got theirs too. all of them.

now after they all passed and he got in his prime that was all she wrote

i don't know who's 4th

i know kareem wilt and russel are on there.

#4 i don't know

Hakeem, Zo, Ewing, Robinson, Mutombo = All HOFers... And Shaq Dominated All of them w/ the exception of the 95 Finals.

And didnt say "best" I said "one of the best eras for big men" Which it was.

If Rodman was in the League w/ Wilt, He'd averaged More rebounds than Wilt.

I agree on Shaq's defense, but its not like Shaq was an average Defender though... He Only got Dunked on Twice (by Coleman and Jordan) in his entire carer because he would put people down on the ground if u Attempted to.. No one came in the lane when Shaq was down there...

Not saying he was the best defending Center, Im just saying dude dominated his comp and literally caused Havoc to the opposite teams so much that they had to start fouling dude on purpose.

If he's not in someones Mt Rushmore then Fine... But dont say Obvious Bullshit like "Zo, Ewing and David Robinson was better than Him"... And THAT'S the whole point of me responding.

like i said he got his. but they got theirs too.

when he hit his prime then there was no competition it was his world.
Even if Prime D Rob and Prime Ewing was around when Prime Shaq was, They would have gotten Easily dominated just off the Fact that Shaq was dominating them in Their Primes when he was 20-22 years old.

Prime shaq and Prime Hakeem would have been Great to Watch... I think Prime shaq would win that though.. being that young Shaq at 22 just barely got Out played by Hakeem in Hakeems prime in the 95 Finals.

I bet David Robinson still wake up at night sweating thinking about those dunks shaq use to get on him. Shaq punished him everytime they played against each other

Shaq had no post moves at all. All he did was push people around. He would have fouled out every time he played agInst someone with FUNDAMENTALS!

Kareem, Shaq, Hakeem, Wilt.

Wilt and Shaq are just physical freaks who are rare. You just can't find cats that size and strength who can move like them. Lebron falls into this category. Three players in the history of the NBA -- two of whom are centers.

Kareem is Kareem and Hakeem is Hakeem.

you are right about shaq and wilt. As far as shaq goes, having a guy 7'1 over 300 lbs who was quick and actually was a really good leaper? game over

Why head fake when you can just power your way up and the defender couldn't stop you even when they tried to foul. Who is this player with all of the fundamentala to keep shaq in foully trouble? He played against some of the all time greats such as Robinson and Ewing and dominated them.

He had Footwork, had a Spin Move, Had a shimmy, had a hookshot AND he had the deadliest drop step in the game when he was Young.. Not only that, he was the big man passer out of a double team in his generation and for his weight and height, he could dribble better than most centers...

FOH..

In fact he played the Dream in his Prime REALLY WELL @ 22... Hakeem is the King of Fundamentals.. Not only that, the Admiral had Great fundamentals but Shaq used to Kill that dude 1 on 1.

Go watch hoops.

Cosign all this

Wilt so good you had to add him twice....

Wilt, Kareem, Shaq and Olajuwon

Yeah I caught that shit too
so basically the poll should be
what 3 other centers is included with WILT as the
MT. RUSHMORE BEST NBA CENTERS:yes:

My 4 is Wilt, Hakeem, Kareem & Shaq

I wanted to put Russell up there so so bad because of
his championships he won

With 121 votes...

Wilt Chamberlain- 110, 90.91%
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar- 109, 90.08%
Bill Russell- 100, 82.64%
Hakeem Olajuwon- 82, 67.77%
Shaquille O'Neal- 78, 64.46%

Tim Duncan- 11, 9.09%

So clearly it's a 5 man race. Should it be a five man mountain, should Hakeem just win out over Shaq or should there be a runoff vote between those two for a fourth and final spot?

Shit is crazy. Cats will choose Russell, but Mutombo(same player but with less help) has one fucking vote. So you going to war with Russell against Hakeem? No fucking way. None. Nada. Go watch the videos.

And Fuzzy_McNut's bitch ass voted for everyone, so Mutumbo really has zero votes-- as it should be.

I don't see a Mt. Rushmore as being only about straight up greatness but also as a representation of eras, ideally telling a story of greatness over time.

You can argue as to whether or not Chamberlain alone adequately represents greatness at the center position at that time and also how to balance the representation of particular eras...

OK...I understand.

Then we need to break all this shit up into eras.

Therefore, can't have both Russell and Wilt.
