The lasting image of Ben Simmons76ers tenure: Passing up an open dunk late in Philadelphia’s Game 7 loss to the Hawks last season.

The moment resonates so much for two reasons: 1. Joel Embiid spotlighted it as the game’s turning point. 2. It didn’t feel like an aberration.

Even for someone hesitant to shoot (especially 3-pointers), Simmons’ confidence looked especially shaken as that second-round series progressed. He stopped shooting in fourth quarters entirely. He made just 33% of his free throws.

But did Simmons hit a previously unknown rock bottom before Game 7?

Ramona Shelburne of ESPN:

The NBA’s coronavirus protocols have major holes if players could just say they didn’t see the masseuse. Depending where she worked, maybe there was no reasonable alternative. Players deserve some privacy, not every interaction monitored. But that’s an easy system to break.

Shit is ridiculous how they treat that man. I don't get it. Drummond actually looks pretty good so far. We have good depth at the forward and center spots with Paul Reed as well. If the Beige Bitch can man the fuck up (which he won't) I think this team can be even better than last year. He still needs to be traded though. Come playoff time it's gonna be the same ol' shit. :smh:
Hey @ansatsusha_gouki I don’t know who Colin pissed off, but they really like painting a bad picture of ya manz!

That’s if what they’re saying isn’t true. :rolleyes2:

I think we're talking semantics to a large extent. I'd believe that Sexton does not have a lot of "friends" on the team because he's a very intense kind of guy who seems somewhat single minded. But I also don't think he's "hated", or affirmatively "not liked", so that's why LNJ said what he did.

I'm usually not one to draw a lot from videos, but it was interesting to see how well he meshed with Barnes. I think Sexton really needs to be paired with a strong alpha type on his team to keep him going in the right direction, and we just don't have that. Nobody else really matches his intensity, so he follows his own lead. I do think strong on-court leadership is one thing we're lacking in the current roster. I think Sexton would even look better with a Calderon-esque kind of guy.

This sums up the relationship with Collin and his teammates. He's basically the only alpha and one of two gym rats on the team. He's so much of a gym rat he works on his game right after the game is finished. I always joke that I'm more surprised he doesnt live at the practice facility because he's always there even during the offseason while his teammates does normal shit like play video games and etc.

I think alot of veterans saw him work his ass off during his rookie season while they wanted Lebron to carry them to another Finals appearance. He never shook the perception of him in people's eyes whether it be the local media, fans and people outside of Cleveland.

How can someone be a ballhog when he's off the ball the majority of the time. And,when he does have the ball it's because he's the team's best scorer and nobody aint making their shots.Collin dropped 24.3 ppg with efficiency with the worst spacing in the league but people want him to give up the ball.

Shit makes no sense at all.

@gene cisco will tell you how much of a shit show our team were last season. Without Collin's scoring the Cavs would barely score 80 ppg last season.

Fuck TMZ, here's a real news article on it: https://www.usatoday.com/story/spor...-kobes-widow-into-psychiatric-exam/8484294002

And fuck LA County. I've never heard of having to submit to an exam to prove emotional distress. Their employees did some fucked up unethical shit that reasonably and obviously could cause distress and they should pay a price for that.

Well said. Several lives were lost that day in the crash.

Multiple family members for a few families.

I just keep hearing how hard he works. It's his style of play that seems to rub people the wrong way. Would he rub some teammates the wrong way? I can see that. He's a very good player, but he's not the superstar that can put a team on his back and carry them to the promise land.

So when you have a very good player who is busting his ass and demands the same of everyone else, that can piss some people off. They like  "He ain't lebron, who does he think he is??!"

Padding stats is bullshit. Fuck else he supposed to do out there? On a championship team, Sexton would be a nice 3rd option just off him being able to score like he does. But when he is on a team where he is the best player, it looks like he is padding his stats. Put him up there with KD and Harden instead of irving. He'd do just fine.

Because if you remember, when Irving was leading the Cavs he played shoot first and lead the team no fucking where. Even when Lebron came back, Irving couldn't keep the cavs a lead when bron sat.

Sexton the rodney dangerfield of the league.

Sounds like Sexton would meld perfectly with Jimmy Butler

People want him to be a great facilitator, rebounder, defender and etc...While,at the same time don't want him to score. What's crazy,Collin was averaging 6 assists a game in the last month of last season with a roster full of G-Leaguers but that gets ignored.

He will never be a superstar but I think he'll be good enough to be in that 2nd tier or borderline superstar tier in his career. He'll be good enough to go to multiple All-Stars every season but not good enough to be a superstar player but you still have to gameplan for him due to his scoring and clutch shooting.

He needs to be on a team that has a superstar that can wheel him in sometimes but allow him be who he is. And,a team of shooter that will knick down shots. Collin gets into trouble when nobody cant shoot and he feels he gotta do everything himself.

I was actually surprised that Larry Nance defended Collin because he was one of the vets that shitted on him. This fanbase treat Larry Nance like he was a fucking superstar when he doesnt have 2% of his daddy's skill. They treated him better than they treat Lebron, which makes no fucking sense.

How do you feel about Mobley and Lauri?

Sounds like Sexton would meld perfectly with Jimmy Butler

@therealjondoe

There was a rumor that Jimmy wanted Collin but the Heat wouldnt cough up Herro. I don't know, how true it is but I could see Collin and Jimmy getting along great...

I haven't watched them in preseason. I'll start catching up when the regular season starts.
